A FORECASTING SYSTEM OF RESERVOIR FRACTURES BASED ON ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK AND BOREHOLE IMAGES INFORMATION –EXEMPLIFIED BY RESERVOIR FRACTURES IN TABNAK FEILD, FARS, IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, H. Sarkheil, H. Hassani, F. Alinya, A. A. Enayati, H. Motamedi)

Reservoir fracturing or fissuring is a natural phenomenon and a major factor in many Oil engineering studies. The factors that cause the Reservoir to fracture were analyzed in Tabnak Anticline, in Fars province of Iran using the borehole images information (EMI). A nonlinear simulation and assessment model of reservoir fracturing was established using the artificial neural network (ANN) technology to simulate the structure and function of the neural network (NN) of the human brain with engineering technology. The ...

A NEW DESIGN FOR GEOELECTRIC SURVEYING AND INVERSE 1D AND 2D MODELING: THE CASE OF KARONGAH LEAD-ZINC MINE, KERMAN, IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, H. Sarkheil, H. Hassani)

Since the resistivity and induced polarization methods have an important role for exploration of concealed lead and zinc, in order to assess the Lead and Zinc layers in an ancient mine, Karongah of Kohbanan, four geoelectrics profiles designed and surveyed in shlumberger array, so that these directions were almost vertical in compare with layers direction and they were include 14, 10, 8 and 9 sounding stations respectively. After geological assessment and one dimensional and two dimensional inverse modeling, we dr...

APPLICATION OF THE ELEMENT CONCENTRATION-PERIMETER AND POWER SPECTRUM –PERIMETER FOR SEPARATION GEOCHEMICAL ANOMALIES FROM BACKGROUND

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, A. Daya, H. Hassani, F. Alinia)

This paper introduces two methods, one is the element Concentration-perimeter and the other is power spectrum- perimeter method, for separating geochemical anomalies from background based on fractal approach. The variability of the element concentration and power spectrum as a function of perimeter from sample sites reveals two different fractal distributional patterns acting within two scale ranges. Therefore, these methods can be used to effectively separate geochemical anomalous areas from background. We compar...

CORRELATION BETWEEN MINERALIZATION AND STRUCTURAL CONTROLS USING THE FRACTAL ANALYSIS OF FAULT DISTRIBUTION IN NORTHEAST OF IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, H. Sarkheil, H. Hassani)

The North part of Kashmar is located about 250 Km Southwest of Mashhad, Northeast Iran. It is part of the structural Darouneh fault zone and contains rhyolitic, andesitic, pyroclastic and lava flows. Based on results obtained from AFM and Miyashiro diagrams the igneous rocks classified as a subalkaline and calcalkaline. From the data obtained the Kashmar strike-slip fault geometry (distribution of shear fractures such as R,RЛґ,P surfaces, Riedel structures) plays an important role in controlling the location and e...

SEPARATION GEOCHEMICAL ANOMALY FROM BACKGROUND BY FRACTAL FILTERING METHOD

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, A. Daya, H. Hassani, F. Alinia)

Anomaly separation plays an important role in mineral exploration. The fractal based method presented in this study provides an anomaly separation method which accomplishes anomaly separation in frequency domain. It is based on the Fourier transformation, which can be compared to a glass prism. The prism separates light into various components, each depending on its wavelength (or frequency) content. Fourier transform can be viewed as a "mathematical prism" that separates a function into various components based o...

APPLICATION OF NEURAL NETWORK METHOD OF LOG PREDICTION IN PETROLEUM EXPLORATION “A CASE STUDY IN SOUTH WEST OIL FIELD, IRAN”

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, H. Hassani)

Petrophysical evaluation is one of the important stages in petroleum exploration activities and reservoir analysis. When a log is missing in a drilling well, petrophysiests hope to deduce it from other logs available in another part of the well or in neighboring wells, in order to define true petrophysic evaluation for corresponding well. This paper presented here, is an artificial neural networks (ANNs) modeling in one of the carbonate reservoirs in the south west of Iran. In this study, three separate ANN are ap...

EFFECT OF BRITTLE-DUCTILE THRUST WEDGES ON THE LEFT PRESSURE SHAFT COLLAPSE OF SIAH BISHEH DAM, NORTH IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, H. Hassani, S. Arshadnejad)

The Siah Bishe Pumped Storage Dam is located in the northern part of the Alborz mountain range. The investigation results and the effect of brittle deformation of two fault sets in the left pressure shaft of Siah Bisheh Dam are discussed in this paper. The shaft is arranged in sedimentary and volcanic rocks of Triasic and Jurasic ages. The length of the shaft is 450m and its diameter is 6m with 65 degree inclination relatively south-north trend. The results of geo-engineering surveys using boreholes and statistica...

GEOMETRIC AND KINEMATIC EVOLUTION OF PROGRESSIVE DEFORMATION IN SHEAR ZONES, SAGHEZ GOLD MINE, NW IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, H. Hassani, M. Ghazanfari)

The Saghez shear zone is part of metamorphic belt of the Sanandaj-Sirjan zone in northwest Iran that uplifted during continental collision between the Afro-Arabian continent and the Iranian microcontinent. The mine is being exploited by open-pits mining, with present reserves estimated at 3.2gr/t gold. The currently favored genetic model is an example of porphyry system, with mineralization being closely to shear bands and emplacement of granit and pegmatitic veins. Rocks from Sagez shear zone consist of metavolca...

LANDSLIDE HAZARD ZONATION OF THE NORTH RAILWAY TRACK, IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2005, H.HASSANI)

Landslide Hazard Zonation (LHZ) is a method to evaluate the risk where there is the potential for landslides. Therefore, many terrain factors affecting the landslides have been exposed firstly. The factors contributing to the hazard in an area can usually be identified, results of the investigations frequently being presented as a landslide hazard zonation map indicating zones of similar risk of the occurrence of a landslide. North railway track is one of the areas susceptible to landslides in Iran, consist of sev...

STRUCTURAL CONTROLLERS OF EPITHERMAL MINERALIZATION AT THE GOLD AND COPPER MINES OF KASHMAR, NORTH-EAST IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2003, H. Hassani)

The North part of Kashmar is located 250 Km South-west of Mashhad, Northeast of Iran. It is a part of Darouneh Fault zone and contains rhyolitic, andesitic pyroclastic and lava flow. The geometry of Kashmar strike-slip fault has been reviewed and described. From the data obtained it appears that fault geometry (the distribution of shear fractures such as R,R,ЩЋP surfaces, Riedel structures) plays an important role in controlling the location and emplacement of mineralization of gold and copper ore deposits. The Ri...
