IMPACT OF SOIL TREATMENT WITH ZEOLITIC VOLCANIC TUFF

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Hortensia Radulescu, Isidora Radulov, Laura Șmuleac, Adina Berbecea)

The paper presents the effect of zeolitic volcanic tuff on soil fertility as a consequence of treating soil with zeolitic tuff supplies (clinoptilolite rich tuff). This high silicon tuff type and the essential features of the clinoptilolite has generated in time changes in soil properties like soil reaction, an effective pH buffering, increase of water absorption and cation exchange properties. The effect of using three different doses of zeolitic volcanic tuff, with and without ammonium nitrate addition as fertil...

WATER MANAGEMENT TO REDUCE FLOODS IN THE HYDROGRAPHIC BASIN BEGA-TIMI?

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Laura Șmuleac, Hortensia Radulescu, Florin Imbrea, Adrian Şmuleac, Raul Pașcalău)

The climate change facing humanity requires two major and immediate solutions: the need to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions on the one hand, and on the other hand the need to adapt to the effects of climate change, given that these effects are already visible and unavoidable due to the inertia of the climate system. Romania is vulnerable to a number of natural climate and geological dangers: floods, droughts, extreme temperatures, the western part of the country registering over time some devastating fl...

IMPACT OF AIR POLLUTION ON HEAVY METALS CONTENT OF HONEY

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Hortensia Radulescu)

Honey, produced by honeybees (Apis mellifera) through nectar plants processing, has a distinct composition depending on the floral sources, regional and climatic conditions. Heavy metals in honey are of interest mainly for quality control and nutritional aspect along with the estimation of the potential environmental contamination. In order to estimate the impact of air pollution on the honey quality, the level of some selected heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, chromium, iron, zinc and manganese in honey was ass...
