MELT INCLUSIONS IN OLIVINE OF ULTRAMAFIC LAMPROPHYRES FROM THE TERINA COMPLEX (SIBERIAN CRATON, RUSSIA)

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, А. Е. Старикова, Ilya Prokopyev, А. G. Doroshkevich)

The investigations of the parental melts composition for the ultramafic lamprophyres from the Siberian Craton were provided. This type of alkaline rocks together with carbonatites and kimberlites is unique since it directly carries information about deep mantle processes. There is also industrial significance for such type of rocks, as they are potential sources of niobium, rare earths and many other critical elements. Study of inclusions of melt captured by minerals of alkaline rocks is a modern method of studyin...

MINERALOGY AND GENESIS OF THE FE-P-F-REE CARBONATITES OF THE CENTRAL ASIAN PROVINCE: A SHORT REVIEW

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Ilya Prokopyev, Аnna А. Redina, Vladislav Potapov, А. G. Doroshkevich)

Carbonatites are a unique group of magmatic rocks that contain extremely high concentrations and the world's largest reserves of rare earth elements, niobium, and a number of other industrial metals. The Late Mesozoic Central Asian carbonatite province includes three main regions: Western Transbaikalia, Central Tuva in Russia, and the South Khangai region in Mongolia. The carbonatites form deposits and occurrences of the complex Fe-P-F-(Ba)-(Sr)-REE ores. We studied and correlated the present data about mineral an...

SPINEL-GROUP MINERALS IN PERIDOTITES OF THE GULI AND BOR-URYAKH INTRUSIONS (MEIMECHA-KOTUY PROVINCE, NORTHERN SIBERIA)

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Ivan F. Chayka, Vadim S. Kamenetsky, Yuriy Vasilyev, Ilya Prokopyev)

The Guli and Bor-Uryakh massifs, a part of the Siberian Large igneous province (LIP) are mafic-ultramafic intrusive complexes, with strong alkaline affinity. They contain deposits of apatite and are also known to be source rocks of Os-Ir-Ru placers. These massifs are of great interest for petrologists worldwide, as they are composed of an unusual variety of rocks (dunites/olivinites, shonkinites, melilitites, alkali syenites and carbonatites) and being coeval with Siberian trap volcanic rocks, including diamondife...
