This paper deals with current applied research focused on energy gain from wastewater (WW) for heating and cooling in a new multifunctional building. Energy-saving and environmental protection technologies are becoming one of the most important issues in the design and construction in EU. Energy gain from WW is often associated with piping exchangers, but there are alternative methods such as input pipes with pumping station (PS) and heat exchanger system (HES) with automatic surface cleaning and solids removal. E...

MICROWAVE PYROLYSIS TREATMENT OF SEWAGE SLUDGE: PERFORMED AT LABORATORY AND FULL-SCALE CONDITIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Jakub Racek)

This paper describes the current applied research of microwave pyrolysis (MP) treatment of sewage sludge at laboratory and full-scale conditions at University of Pavia (UNIPV) and Brno University of Technology, AdMaS research centre (BUT AdMaS). Disposal of sewage sludge is becoming one of the most important issues in waste water management in EU, particularly thermal treatment and reuse of sludge. Thermal treatment is often associated with incineration, but there are alternative methods such as gasification or py...
