REGION OF KARDZHALI COMBINED LOCAL AND TRANSBORDER EARTHQUAKE IMPACTS- ANALYSIS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Kiril Hadjiyski)

The region of Kardzhali is earthquake prone to various local and near/trans border seismic impacts. That is why their combined analysis is of interest to be studied. The 3 most significant seismic events that struck this region in the last 15 years are considered and discussed. That is: the 2006, M=4.5 local one; the 2014, M=6.9 transborder and the 2019, M=3.6 local one. The real dynamic impact by these events transformed into the earthquake engineering characteristics they produced is evaluated. Data accumulated ...

ASSESSMENNT OF LATEST MOST SERIOUS EARTHQUAKES IMPACT ON RILA MONASTERY HERITAGE SITE

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Kiril Hadjiyski)

As a world heritage site Rila monastery is continuously monitored, including seismically, ensuring proper maintenance and preservation for future generations. Th? instrumental data is acquired by the monastery?s accelerograph stations that are local units of the National Strong Ground Motion (SGM) Network run by the NIGGG-BAN. Considering the seismic history of our lands, it is indispensable to assess periodically the characteristics of significant earthquake impacts on important sites as this one. The current sei...

ASSESSMENT OF VRANCEA EARTHQUAKES IMPACT RECORDED ON BULGARIAN TERRITORY

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Svetoslav Simeonov, Kiril Hadjiyski)

The Vrancea seismogenic zone is real menace not only for Romania but also for the neighbouring countries. Vrancea earthquakes cause casualties mainly in northern Bulgaria. Vrancea source is rather active one пїЅ more than 10 quakes with magnitude 5.1 < Mw < 7.0 (depth of hypocenters of 40 to 154 km) occurred during the last 30-ty years. In the last decade the Vrancea quakesпїЅ impact on our territory have been thoroughly recorded by the digital stations of the National Strong Ground Motion (SGM) Network of Bulgari...
