ANALYSIS OF CORE FAILURES DISTRIBUTION IN STEEL CORD BELTS ON THE CROSS-SECTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Ryszard Blazej, Leszek Jurdziak, Robert Burduk, Agata Kirjanow, Tomasz Kozlowski)

Changes of damage to the belt core that are not controlled during the exploitation can lead to dangerous accumulation of the defects (strains) in the cross cross-section. It can lead to serious weakness and even rupture of the belt. Early detection of the mic rodamage of the covers and evaluation of the increase speed of the damage allows the user to plan maintenance more precisely. Furthermore, it allows more effective cost management when conveyor belt maintenance is scheduled. In this paper, geometric data o f ...

ASSESSMENT OF THE CHANCES FOR REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH LIGNITE DEPOSITS UTILIZATION IN THE LIGHT OF STATISTICAL DATA COMPARISONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-29, Justyna Wozniak, Leszek Jurdziak)

In central and western Poland in the rural areas there is a lot of lignite deposits, which utilization by building mining and power complexes could give impetus to development. The paper attempts to evaluate the impact of their construction by comparing socio-economic development indicators and quality of life conditions of residents in two regions. In the area of Belchatow, in which operates the largest lignite mine and the lignite fired power plant (commune Kleszczow) and commune around deposit Gubin-Brody with ...

CONTINUOUS TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM MODELLING IN ONE OF UNDERGROUND MINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF ORE FLOW SIMULATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Leszek Jurdziak, Witold Kawalec, Robert Krol)

In Polish underground copper ore mines belt conveyors are the most common transport facilities. In KGHM Polish Copper SA there are over 100 km of belt conveyors. To increase reliability of the transportation system there are built numerous ore bunkers ensuring continuity of the excavation during 5 working days of the week and on weekends, during which ore bunkers feed processing plants. In addition, some conveyors were built as reverse ones what in cases of emergency can provide alternative routes to supply ore to...

DIAGNOSTIC PARAMETERS EXTRACTION FOR TECHNICAL CONDITION ASSESSMENT OF SPLICES IN STEEL CORD CONVEYOR BELTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Tomasz Kozlowski, Ryszard Blazej, Grzegorz Zak, Radoslaw Zimroz, Leszek Jurdziak)

Research concerning magnetic diagnostics of the conveyor belt with steel cords was focused on its sections. In this paper authors are focusing on the extraction of the diagnostic parameters for the technical evaluation of the condition of the splice in belt conveyor. Data used for the analysis were acquired from the belt core testing using HRDS system. Parameters that are used in this paper take into account and can define its condition in the specific locations. Parameters were analysed and research shown influen...

ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF STEEL CORD CONVEYOR BELTS REPLACEMENT STRATEGY IN ORDER TO UNDERTAKE PROFITABLE REFURBISHMENT OF WORN OUT BELTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Leszek Jurdziak, Ryszard Blazej)

In Polish mines several belt replacement strategies are applied. They have been discussed in the context of strategies for machinery maintenance. The common practice is to base belt replacement on its condition established through visual inspections. Two main policies have been recognized: replacements in order to prevent costly downtimes of conveyor systems (in underground mines) and replacements in order to assure profitable refurbishment of worn out belts (in surface lignite mines). In order to choose the most ...

IDENTIFICATION OF LOADING PARAMETERS FOR BELT CONVEYORS OPERATING IN KGHM-S MINES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Leszek Jurdziak, Witold Kawalec, Damian Kaszuba, Robert Krol)

The effectiveness of enrichment process of run-of-mine copper ore (at KGHMпїЅs ore enrichment plants) depends on the selection of appropriate working parameters of processing machines which are customized mainly to fit the fed rock type. Therefore, the knowledge of lithological composition of run-of-mine copper ore fed to the ore processing plant can significantly improve the effectiveness of the enrichment process. The issue of optimization of enrichment processes with the help of the use of in-situ sensor techno...

PARTIAL REPLACEMENTS OF CONBEYOR BELT LOOP ANALYSIS WITH REGARD TO ITS RELIABILITY

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Miroslaw Bajda, Ryszard Blazej, Leszek Jurdziak)

Conveyor belt loop operates in a system comprising a series of belt segments and the splices between them. Splices are the weakest parts of a loop. Depending on the splicing technology, the spliceпїЅs strength, durability and reliability may vary significantly. Vulcanized splices offer the highest strength and durability. In the case of steel cord belts, such splices are practically the only technology available. In the case of textile belts, adhesive and mechanical splices may also be used. Although mechanical sp...

POWER STATION EFFICIENCY AS ONE OF PROFITABILITY KEY FACTORS IN JOINT OPERATION OF MINE AND LIGNITE OR COAL FIRED POWER STATION ELECTRICITY GENERATION PROJECT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-29, M. Dudek, Z. Krysa, Leszek Jurdziak, W. Kawalec)

This research consists of two studies regarding power generation projects. First based upon hard coal and second as joint optimisation of lignite open pit mine and lignite fired power station. Hard coal spreads as fossil fuels combustion competitiveness measure were calculated based on the typical parameters for the Polish hard coal and lignite power stations. Brown spread calculated for lignite power station generally indicates a higher value than the dark spread for hard coal combustion. Spreads value depend on ...

VARIANTS OF IDENTIFICATION OF THE RUN-OF-MINE ORE COMPOUND WITH THE HELP OF PROCESS ANALYTIC TECHNOLOGY IN THE KGHM UNDERGROUND COPPER MINES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Leszek Jurdziak, Damian Kaszuba, Witold Kawalec, Robert Krol)

Processing of copper ore strongly depends on its parameters, therefore the more accurate identification of them should improve the process efficiency. The ore exploited in the KGHM underground mines in Poland is among the most difficult for processing, mostly due to its differentiated lithological compound. It can be identified at mining faces but on the way to processing plants through the complex transportation system consisting of trucks, sectional and main belt conveyors and ore bunkers, the portions of ore ha...
