ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS FOR HIGH ALTITUDE PSEUDO-SATELLITES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Liviu DINCA, Jenica-Ileana CORCAU, Teodor Lucian GRIGORIE)

In this paper are presented some studies concerning energy conversion systems for High Altitude Pseudo-Satellites (HAPS). In the first part of the paper, a state-of-the-art in the field of energy conversion systems on board of high altitude UAVs together with the identification of future trends in electrical propulsion of aircrafts are shown. The interfacing between the fuel cells and the bus, as well as the bus voltage adjustment is made via the DC to DC converters. Simple type boost converters are lighter, but h...

HYBRID POWER SOURCE FOR PSEUDO-SATELLITES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Jenica-Ileana CORCAU, Liviu DINCA, Teodor Lucian GRIGORIE, Eduard Ureche)

This paper presents some studies concerning hybrid power sources fuel cell, new generation photovoltaic cells with high efficiency and small battery based for High Altitude Pseudo-Satellites (HAPS). HAPS are recent entrants UAS-s in both directions of research of major aviation companies. Their goal is to replace services provided by classical communications and surveillance satellites, which show a high cost, with services provided by much cheaper technology platforms. It is exposed a state-of-the-art in the fiel...

REAL TIME TEMPERATURE INFLUENCES ESTIMATION AND COMPENSATION IN A MINIATURE THREE-AXIAL GYRO DETECTION UNIT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Teodor Lucian Grigorie, Constantin Irinel Gresita, Ileana Jenica Corcau, Liviu Dinca)

A methodology to obtain an intelligent miniaturized three-axial gyro detection unit is exposed in this paper. The presented mechanism is based on the on-line estimation and compensation of the sensors errors generated by the environmental temperature variation. Because these kind of errors are in a strongly nonlinear complex dependence of the values of environmental temperature and of the angular speed exciting the sensor on each of the three sensing axis, their correction may not be done off-line and requires an ...
