In this study preparation of oil absorbent composite is described. Polyacrylic acid / Na-montmorillonite composite was synthesized by polymerization of acrylic acid on the surface of the sodium bentonite. FTIR spectrum of absorbent was recorded, and it was shown that polyacrylic acid reacted with bentonite layers.
