Abstract

The field of biotechnology provides manageable production of useful products for various spheres of human activity, based on the use of various biological resources and systems, as well as extracellular substances and cell components. The development and transformation of biotechnology is due to active research and continuous application of new technologies. Numerous studies of recent decades have convincingly shown that the actual task is to create an information database that will contain information of prebiotics, probiotics, and information of their activity. In this paper, the analysis of the subject area is carried out, the main prebiotic and probiotic species of cultures, both commercial and species, derived by the researchers are considered. The main stages of database design (DB) are described. The rationale for the selection of the software product, infological model of database, and the results of the database implementation are presented. The novelty of the work lies in the structuring and consolidation of a large volume of scientific information from around the world. The scientific and practical significance of the work lies in the fact that an effective tool for presenting knowledge and data for searching by specific parameters is required. The convenience of the system is that there is no need to address in various sources, methods and conditions of cultivation of prebiotic and probiotic cultures, it has already been collected and structured according to parameters. The database is able to sort the recommended technological solutions, which allows to produce products with specified characteristics and meets the modern requirements of quality.
