THE DISTRIBUTION OF LIGNITE QUALITY IN SOUTHERN FILED MINE, PROLEMAIS-AMYNTEO LIGNITE BASIN, GREECE
Abstract
The determination of the recoverable lignite layers requires the thorough knowledge of the lignite quality distribution in the site. The lignite quality is seriously affected by the inorganic impurities included either inside the lignite mass or/and in the thin intercalations coexcavated with lignite. The present study deals with the distribution of the lignite quality in the Southern Field Mine lignite deposit giving special attention to the energy content, the ash content and the CO2 content. Specific equations describe the lignite quality taking into account mainly the inorganic part of lignite.
