ASSESSMENT OF PRODUCTION OF COPPER CONCENTRATE FROM TECHNOGENIC RAW MATERIALS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Dyussenova, Symbat)

Studies to determine the forms of finding copper and iron in the converter slag of the Balkhash copper production were carried out. The microprobe analyzes of converter slag show that in these samples a significant amount of copper is in a sulphide form, lead in both sulphide and oxide, and in the form of glass, and zinc in oxide. Laboratory studies on the flotation of the original converter slag, as well as after remelting and its slow cooling, were carried out according to a scheme including the basic, control f...

ABOUT A POSSIBILITY OF PROCESSING OF TECHNOGENIC WASTE WITH USE OF THE NEW EQUIPMENT AND FLOTOREAGENT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Semushkina, Larissa)

At present, there are tendencies in the world of depletion of ores and the involvement of low-grade and technogenic raw materials into processing. The ever-increasing scale of industrial production, with the involvement of valuable raw materials components in the processing of raw materials, led to an increase in the amount of man-made waste polluting the environment. Hundreds of millions of tons of flotation tailings accumulated in the tailings processing plants processing various ores, which contain significant ...

APPLICATION OF BIOTECHNOLOGICAL METHODS IN MINERAL PROCESSING

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Janakova, I., Cablik, V., Tora, B., Nowak, A. K.)

The paper deals with the removal of hydrocarbons C10-C40 from the river sediment using flotation and bacterial leaching. Flotation, as a purely mineral processing method, was used to remove a large percentage of organic pollutants. Flotation has not been applied in the cleaning of organically contaminated soils and sediments in the Czech Republic so far. The flotation collecting agent was Montanol 551. The flotation results show that the method appears as very effective as dominant proportions of the pollutants pa...

APPLICATION OF COMPLEXING REAGENTS-COLLECTORS IN RARE-METAL AND RARE-EARTH ORE

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Ivanova, V., Mitrofanova, G., Chernousenko, E.)

The possibility to use complexing reagents-collectors in floating different rare-earth and rare-metal ore has been studied. A prognostic assessment has been performed of efficiency of organic heteropolar compounds as flotation reagents-collectors on the basis of molecule?s energy parameters. The interaction has been considered of rare-earth and rare-metal minerals such as eudialite, zirconium, loparite and columbite with complexing reagents. Gain in energy (??) has been calculated by computer modeling at formation...

CHARACTERIZATION AND BENEFICIATION OF LOW GRADE NB AND TA ORE FROM KIBARA BELT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Mutombo, D., Nheta, W.)

Due to their chemical, physical and mechanical properties, niobium (Nb) and tantalum (Ta) are strategically used in various technical applications. About 130 different minerals contain tantalum and niobium, of which only about 80 are found in economical deposits. The remainder contains Nb and Ta as impurities. The most commercialised source of Nb and Ta is a columbite-tantalite ore often referred to as coltan containing pyrochlorite. The Central African Mesoproterozoic Kibara belt in Katanga (Democratic Republic o...

UNCERTAINTY ANALYSIS OF THE LIFE CYCLE INVENTORY OF RARE EARTH ELEMENTS FROM SECONDARY FLOTATION OF RARE EARTH ELEMENTS IN BENEFICIATION RARE EARTH WASTE FROM THE GOLD PROCESSING: CASE STUDY

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Bieda, B., Grzesik, K.)

The aim of the paper is created the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)/Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) under uncertainty of the production of rare earth elements (REEs), from the European sources, mainly neodymium, cerium and lanthanum obtained from secondary sources, considered now as waste. The European sources with the highest content in REE, were identified to be New Kankberg (Sweden), and data from the flotation and magnetic separation processes of the tailings were used in presented case study. Uncertainty assessment in...

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Bilyalova, S.)

Selective collector "polyfunctional reagent" consisting a mixture of butyl xanthoenate, N-allyl-o-izobuthyl-tiono-karbamat (TC-1000) and aerofloat composition in a ratio of 1: 1: 2 was selected on the basis of comprehensive research. Their colloid-chemical properties (surface tension, adsorption at the water-air wetting) was studied. Also colloid-chemical properties and ability flotation of sulfide monominerals with the usage of basic and multifunctional flotation reagents was evaluated. Furthermore flotation of s...

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Repka, V., Landecka, A., M.Hummel, Kral, O.)

When coal preparation, particularly suitable for coking created considerable amounts of sludge. Most of the technological operations is taking place in water environment. Raw sludge at a time when technology was not yet at such a high level as today and emergency overflows were deposited in tailing ponds. This is practiced on coal districts in the Czech Republic and Poland. The purpose of this section was to analyze the possibility of another flotability of coal sludge deposited in settling ponds of company EKO CA...

Many low grade iron ore deposits which were previously ignored are being treated due to depletion of high grade iron ore deposits. Haematite flotation concentrate from a reverse flotation of fluorspar tailings was characterised and agglomerated using bentonite and coke. The effect of bentonite and coke concentrations on mechanical strength and metallurgical characteristics of the wet and baked pellets was investigated. It was found that the concentrate contained 60.5% Fe, 4.24% silica and other minor elements. Maj...
