EFFECT OF DIFFERENT DOSES OF N FERTILIZATION AND CONSEQUENT CHANGES IN SOIL REACTION AND POSSIBLE EFFECTS DURING UPTAKE OF ELEMENTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Hladky, J., Skarpa, P., Elbl, J., Kynicky, J., Brtnicky, M.)

One of the important factors affecting nutrient uptake by the root system of the plants includes soil reaction. Increased soil acidity may adversely affect the use of biogenic nutrients, such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur and molybdenum. In soil, nutrients are immobilized to insoluble forms. Although their amount in soil may be sufficient, the plants cannot obtain the optimal quantities, causing a decrease in the yield or production quality. On the other hand, in the metabolism of plants, a...

THE ACTIVITY OF SOIL PHOSPHATASE ON THE METALLIC AND ALKALINE CONTAMINATED SOILS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Hulicova, P., Fazekasova, D., Fazekas, J.)

The work is focused to study the impact of alkaline and metallic deposition on soil phosphatase activity. Area Jelsava - Lubenik with specific alkaline pollutants is one of the most devastated regions of Slovakia. Mining and processing of magnesite is accompanied by enormous emissions of particulate matter of MgO into the air. The heavy metals Cd, Pb, Zn, Mn and Cr are also found in the dust particles. Seven research sites in the agrarian country of the problem area Jel?ava and Luben?k were monitored. Middle Spi? ...

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VEGETATION BIODIVERSITY AND SOIL FUNCTIONAL DIVERSITY OF ALKALIZED SOIL IN THE EMISSION AREA OF MAGNESIUM FACTORY JELSAVA - LUBENIK (SLOVAKIA)

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Fazekasova, Juraj)

A strong alkaline reaction is caused by emissions from alkaline magnesium factory currently localized in Jel?ava and Luben?k (Slovakia). The area Jel?ava ? Luben?k with specific alkaline pollutants, is one of the most devastated regions of Slovakia and with the alarming degree of environmental damage. Even so, the pollution fallout remains enormous and devastating. The work examines the relationship between vegetation diversity and soil functional diversity in the emission field of magnesium factory Jel?ava ? Lube...
