COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF HIGH TEMPERATURE STRENGTH OF PLATINUM AND PALLADIUM

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Biserka Trumić)

Mining and Metallurgy Institute in Bor, Se rbia, has successfully dealt for many years with processing of precious metals. Platinum and palladium have originated from the raw materials of the Bor deposit. By furt her refining in the Institute, the mentioned platinum metals are transformed into high-pu rity metals of which products for various purposes are manufactured. This paper presents the results of comparativ e analysis the high temperature strength of platinum and palladium. The limit of tensile strength as ...

CORROSION AND WEAR BEHAVIOR OF HIGH VELOCITY OXYGEN FUEL SPRAYED WC-CO COATINGS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Dragoş Uţu)

Tungsten carbides coatings are one of the mo st promising coatings used against wear and corrosion in industry, in particular in aerospace, automation, transportation and power generation system. The paper presents the investigation of WC-Co coatings produced by high velocity oxy- fuel (HVOF) spraying method using two feedstock powders with different particles granulation. The substrate selected for depositions was a C45 steel. The morphology and phases modification of the coatings was analyzed by Scanning Electro...

ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY PROCESSES OVER NANOSIZED GOLD CATALYSTS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Yuri Kalvachev)

One-step vapor phase oxidation of aliphatic hydrocarbons over nanosized gold catalysts by using oxygen is carried out. Selective oxidation of propylene to propylene oxide, propane to acetone and isobutene to t-butanol with hydrogen- oxygen mixture in flow conditions is investigated. The reaction occurs at the interface perimeter of the support around the gold particles. The activity of these catalysts can be attributed to synergetic effects between gold and titanium. Adsorption of nitrogen oxide over the so synthe...

MINIATURISED ACCELEROMETERS ARCHITECTURES, DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGIES AND APPLICATIONS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Ioana Raluca Edu)

The paper deals with the description of actual technologies and trends in the development of miniaturized accelerometers used in inertial naviga tion systems. At the technology levels discussions are made ar ound the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), nano- electro-mechanical systems (NEMS), micro-opto-electro-mechanical systems (MOEMS), and nano-opto-electro- mechanical systems (NOEMS). Miniature accelerometers use two main methods of de tection: 1) moving or bending under the action of an acceleration plat...

STRUCTURAL AND MECHANICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF TITANIUM BIOCOMPATIBLE LAYERS DEPOSITED BY HVOF THERMAL SPRAYING METHOD

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Radu Alexandru Roşu)

Titanium is a biocompatible material used in dentistry as una lloyed (minimum purity 99.4%) and alloyed, the most widely used is TiAl6V4 despite some reservations about the releasing of Al and V ions, which can be accumulated in the tissues. To increase the surface contact between the implant and bone, facilitating osseointegration the implants are coated with titanium or ceramic mate rials leading to a ro ughness surface which creates conditions for bone growth, resulting a better anchoring between the implant an...

STUDY OF TIN SELENIDE MECHANOCHEMICAL SYNTHESIS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Marcela Achimovičová)

Tin selenide SnSe was synthesized from tin and selenium powder precursors by high- energy milling in pl anetary ball mill. X-ray diffractio n analysis confirmed that an orthorhombic tin selenide SnSe phase was formed already after 4 min of milling. 119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopy documented the values of SnSe isomer shifts corresponded to Sn in the oxidation state II. The size and morphology of tin selenide particles were studied by specific surface area measuremen ts, and transmission electron microscopy. Specific ...
