This paper shows laboratory researches in order to extract arsenic and cadmium from the polluted soils. Research is based on preliminary studies regarding the usage of microorganisms which were selected from the same sampling points of soil assays for decontamination of soil polluted with heavy metals (As and Cd). In the paper the precipitation of arsenic and iron from an acid drainage water of the Berikul mine wastes by using lime milk, NaOH, and Na2S were studied. The wastes were stored in the southern part of the Komsomolsk tailings impoundment, near the Komsomolsk settlement (Kemerovo region, Russia).
