GEOMECHANICAL ASPECTS OF LARGE-SCALE MINING AT THE KHIBINY CONTIGUOUS APATITE DEPOSITS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Kozyrev, A. A., Semenova, I. E.)

The article presents the research results on geomechanical processes related to the change in the stress-strain state in the rock mass during large-scale mining operations in highly stressed rock massifs. A geomechanical model has been created that allows considering the sequential development of a complex of adjacent deposits at the Khibiny rock massif. Based on the modeling results, the optimal order and direction of development of mining operations under rockburst hazardous conditions are determined. At that, t...

NUMERICAL MODELING OF BRACKISH WATER INJECTION TO LOW-MINERALIZED GEOTHERMAL AQUIFER

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Miecznik, M., Tomaszewska, B.)

Productivity of geothermal reservoirs is often limited by capability of injection wells due to clogging of near-filter zone or increased viscosity of cooled waters. Especially for highly saline reservoirs, injection of cooled waters to water-bearing formation is often the only way of their disposal. In turn, this phenomena has little importance in case of low-mineralized waters. However, several water-treatment procedures can be used to recover valuable minerals, thus producing diluted water and salt concentrate. ...

USAGE OF NUMERICAL MODELING FOR PROPOSAL OF SLOPE STABILIZATION IN GREYWACKE QUARRY IN EASTERN BOHEMIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Janega, M., Sancer, J., Siroky, T.)

This paper describes possibilities to use numerical models as significant aid in proposal of slope stabilization in Quarry. More accurately the proposal for excavation way of first soil overburden cut, which is mixed up with rock mass, to stabilize the slope. That is real case study which was performed for greywacke quarry situated in Eastern Bohemia. Since 2005 a small instability symptoms are observed on eastern general slope of quarry. Based on this fact the slope stability investigation started in detail one y...

EVALUATION OF EXPLOITABLE RESOURCES OF WATER INTAKES LOCATED BETWEEN RIVERS, BASED ON NUMERICAL MODELING, ON THE EXAMPLE OF TARNOW REGION IN POLAND

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Haladus, Andrzej)

Tarnow region is supplied with water from intensively exploited groundwater and surface water intakes located in the small area between Dunajec and Bia?a rivers. Three groundwater intakes are a part of the Tarnow Municipal Water Service, i.e. ?wierczk?w, K?pa Bogumi?owicka and newly constructed Zbylitowska G?ra intake, as well as the intake of surface water in Zbylitowska G?ra. The chemical company Zak?ady Azotowe in Tarn?w has groundwater intake located in Tarn?w-Mo?cice, and one of surface water located nearby. ...

BLASTING PARAMETERS ALTERNATE SELECTION AS A TOOL FOR ELASTIC WAVE EFFECT AMPLIFICATION AT POTENTIALLY INSTABLE LOCATIONS WITHIN MAIN ROOF STRATA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Pytel, W., Mertuszka, P.)

The exploitation of copper ore deposits in Polish underground mines is performed primarily by the use of blasting technology which seems to be relatively well suited to the hardness of the local rocks and to local mining and geological conditions. Blasting works are also recognized as an active method of seismic events prevention, conducted as group strain-release blasting within potentially instable main roof strata and in pillars. A notable number of recorded dynamic events can be clearly explained by the blasti...
