CUT-OFF GRADE DETERMINATION PECULIARITIES FOR 3D MODELING OF UKRAINIAN BIF DEPOSITS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, М. Kurylo, O. Plotnikov, О. С. Прокопенко)

The main cut-off parameter that determines the quality of iron ore resources and reserves is Fe cut-off grade. We often use the content of iron associated with magnetite for BIF deposits. The purpose of the study is to define the method of optimal values selecting for Fe cut-off grade. This value for resources calculation should be acceptable and effective, both for the owner of the subsoil resources, and for mining enterprises. It is proposed a method for choosing the optimum values of cut-off grade Fe in evaluat...

GEOSTATISTICAL ASSESSMENT AND RESOURCE CLASSIFICATION OF THE OUM DHEROUA (ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF MAURITANIA) STRONTIUM-URANIUM SURFICIAL TYPE OCCURRENCE

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, I. Virshylo, V. Zagnitko, D. Kravchenko, А. В. Андреев, М. Kurylo)

The issues of the spatial distribution of complex occurrence of surficial type uranium and strontium mineralization are presented. In this study, we show the preliminary results of complex processing of remote sensing and ground data, including detailed geological mapping, geochemical and mineralogical assays, geophysics made by analysis in GIS. We found a significant variation in commodities co-distribution, which impacts the resource classification. The investigated area is located in arid conditions of south-we...

QUALITY PARAMETERS OF UKRAINIAN IRON ORE DEPOSITS AND THEIR COMPLIANCE WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESSES

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, М. Kurylo, O. Plotnikov)

The resource base of Ukraine has 60 deposits of iron ore with proven reserves. The quality assessment of these objects was carried out during their exploration several decades ago. Commodity products of domestic mining enterprises are various types of iron ore, concentrate, pellets, agglomerate. Mostly commodity concentrates have a total iron content of 64-65%. The best indicators (more than 67% of Fe total) are characteristic of certain types of concentrates of Central and Ingulets enterprises. The quality of com...

DETERMINATION OF DISCOUNTING PARAMETRES IN FEASIBILITY STUDY OF IRON ORE DEPOSITS

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, М. Kurylo)

According to the evaluation practice minerals deposits have different levels of geological and feasibility study, so discounts is not only a tool for multi-temporal cash flows, but also an important tool for geological risks assessment. Thus, the determination of the discount rate should be based not only on the economic conditions for management of the mining enterprise, but also on level of geological knowledge, probability of reserves evaluation. Practical use of the discount parameters affects the commercial v...

UKRAINIAN RESERVE`S BASE OF OXIDIZED FERRUGINOUS QUARTZITES AS AN UNCONVENTIONAL RESOURCE OF IRON ORES

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, М. Kurylo)

Oxidized ferruginous quartzites are located within BIF deposits of the Precambrian iron-siliceous formation. They form thick layers, which overlap magnetite quartzite varieties - basic minerals for mining and processing enterprises. Oxidized ore bodies are located in the lower parts of section of weathered rocks and their thickness varies from the first tens to hundreds of meters increasing from north to south along the Kryvyi Rih structure. Main questions of commercial significance definition of oxidized ferrugin...

GEOLOGICAL AND MINING RISKS ASSESSMENT ON EXAMPLE OF UKRAINIAN BIF DEPOSITS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, М. Kurylo)

Comparison of mining risks component was carried out on example of Ukrainian BIF deposits. The study object was one of deposits within Kryvyi Rih region which is exploited for iron concentrate and pellets production. We analyzed main geological, mining and business risks in international and national practices of risk assessment. It was defined that main components of international risk assessment of iron ore deposits is a risk associated with productivity, price and currency factors. For domestic deposits positiv...
