THE IMPACT ON LANDSCAPE FRAGMENTATION INDUCED BY THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NATURA 2000 NETWORK IN ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2023-10-01, Mihăiţă-Iulian Niculae, Gabriel Ovidiu Vânău, Viorica Iulia MIU, Lavinia Pindaru, Cristiana Maria PIOARCA-CIOCANEA)

Habitat fragmentation is a significant threat to biodiversity conservation and the establishment of protected areas has been proposed as one of the main strategies for mitigating its impacts. Romania has established numerous Natura 2000 sites to protect habitats and species of European importance, but their effectiveness remains unclear. In Romania, the Natura 2000 network was established in 2007. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Sites of Community Importance (SCI), part of Natura 2000 network in R...

COMPARATIVE ENERGETIC AND EXERGETIC ANALYSIS OF INDIVIDUAL OR COGENERATIVE SYSTEMS WITH STEAM TURBINES FOR PRODUCING HEAT AND MECHANICAL WORK

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Mihaela Ciocan)

The energy consumes for district or industrial heating and electrical energy are in most of cases concomitant. The paper analyses from the point of view of the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics the advantages of producing heat and mechanical power each one individually or through cogeneration. It is clearly pointed out that the energy balance induces the idea that the most efficient conversion process is to produce heat in an individual boiler while the mechanical power production in a steam turbine system i...

RESEARCH ON DOLOMITIC LIMESTONE CAPITALIZATION IN TERMS OF ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Adriana Ciocan)

This paper presents the research undertaken in order to establish a processing technology for the Budureasa dolomitic limestone. For this, a series of physico-chemical and mineralogical analyzes were performed, but also unitary processing operations such as grinding, calcination, gravitational concentration and flotation, and solubilization with carbon dioxide in an aqueous medium to obtain a MgO ? rich concentrate, usable in various fields of activity, under economic efficiency conditions. Mineralogical, chemical...

CHARACTERIZATION OF A LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE WITH CORN COB AGGREGATES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Catalina Mihaela Gradinaru, Marinela Barbuta, Vasilica Ciocan, Adrian Alexandru Serbanoiu)

Nowadays, an important objective for researchers is to find an alternative to build cheaper and greener, sustainable and also durable. To discover a material with better thermal and acoustic performances than conventional concrete by using natural and renewable components in its composition became also an obvious trend. The agriculture products, mainly those considered as waste in this field, fulfill all the above mentioned requirements, being also widely available and with higher thermal and acoustic properties t...

INFLUENCE OF AL2O3 NANOPARTICLES ON HARDNESS AND WEAR RESISTANCE OF NI-P-AL2O3 COMPOSITE COATINGS PREPARED BY ELECTROLESS METHOD

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, L. Balint, T. Radu, A. Ciocan, S. Constantinescu)

Wear-resistant composite coatings reinforced with Al2O3 nanoparticles (20nm) obtained by electroless technique are analysed in this paper. The structure and surface morphology of coatings with alumina nanoparticles embedded in the Ni-P alloy for different quantities of alumina in the nickel-plating bath (3g/L, 5g/L and 8g/L) are presented. Nanocomposite electroless coatings are characterized by optical microscopy, XRD and SEM. Microstructure of the composites has revealed uniform distribution of Al2O3 nanoparticle...
