EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF AUTOMOBILE POLLUTION ON THE HEALTH OF THE ROMANIAN POPULATION THROUGH STATISTICAL METHODS

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-01, Mădălina Rus, Silvia Vereşiu, Elena Mereuţă, Valentin Amorțilă, George Bălășoiu)

This research aims to conduct a descriptive statistical analysis to identify the statistical correlation between categories of new and second-hand vehicles registered for circulation in Romania and various health conditions associated with atmospheric pollution. Currently, a significant challenge for the global community lies in mitigating the impact of atmospheric pollution, considered a crucial factor both in terms of global climate change and its impact on public health. One major source of atmospheric pollutio...

SOLUTIONS FOR REDUCING THE AIR POLLUTION GENERATED BY VEHICLE

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-01, Mihai Gingarasu, Elena Mereuţă, Valentin Amorțilă, George Bălășoiu)

Reducing air pollution is a major objective of road transport, the most important consequence of this reduction being the decrease in the number of illnesses and, implicitly, a better quality of human life. To achieve this goal, researchers- efforts have been directed towards reducing the quantities and treating the exhaust gases of vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines. It is important to note that the reduction of environmental pollution must also aim at decreasing the emissions of particles that ar...

STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF THE ENERGY INDUSTRY ON THE LEVEL OF POLLUTION OF WASTEWATER IN ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-01, Silvia Vereşiu, Mădălina Rus, Elena Mereuţă, Valentin Amorțilă, Mihai Gingarasu)

This research aims to conduct a detailed analysis of the necessity for generating electrical energy using conventional methods, simultaneously assessing the impact on water quality. Wastewater, originating from fluids used in industrial processes or households, contains various impurities and is discharged into the natural aquatic environment (such as rivers, lakes, or the Black Sea) or onto various lands, either with or without prior treatment. The production and utilization of primary energy raw materials, such ...

THE PREDICTION AND OPTIMIZATION OF ALTERNATIVE FUEL CONSUMPTION IN VEHICLES USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS WITH THE AIM OF REDUCING ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-01, Valentin Amorțilă, Elena Mereuţă, Silvia Vereşiu, Mădălina Rus, Balasoi George)

The purpose of this work is to explore the potential for predicting and improving the fuel efficiency of vehicles with thermal engines, especially in the context of reducing exhaust gas emissions that contribute to environmental pollution. With rising fuel costs, consumers need to make informed decisions about the fuel consumption and environmental impact of purchasing vehicles with internal combustion engines. To achieve this goal, the researchers utilized artificial intelligence and created a model using neural ...

ANALYSIS OF THE NEAR INFRARED (NIR) SPECTROSCOPY METHOD USED FOR TEXTILE WASTE SORTING

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Oana-Cristina Modoi, Iulia Ajtai, Carmen Roba, A. Mereuta)

Textile production is considered one of the most polluting industries with a high impact on the environment, both in terms of increased resource consumption and textile waste generation. Moreover, in the past years, the textile industry registered a significant growth, which leads to large amounts of textile waste that need to be controlled and managed. This problem highlighted the need for sustainable methods and improved technologies for textile recycling, and brings into focus the importance of circular economy...

REDUCTION OF POLYMERIC WASTE BY APPLYING HEAT TREATMENTS DURING THE POLYMERIZATION PERIOD

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Costel Humelnicu, Elena Mereuţă, Valentin Amorțilă, Mihai Gingarasu, Monica Novetschi)

Pollution and its effects on the environment have been at the centre of debates on the global stage, with growing concerns from researchers and the public. A major source of pollution is polymeric materials, which are increasingly used in various industries because of their similar properties to metal. If, in the case of polymeric thermoplastics materials we have recycling and reusing technologies when they reach the end of their lifespan or they break, not the same can be said about polymeric thermosetting materi...

THE EFFECTS OF AUTO POLLUTION ON THE POPULATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Monica Novetschi, Elena Mereuţă, Mihai Gingarasu, Costel Humelnicu, Valentin Amorțilă)

Transport sector is a fundamental component of the human society. The importance for both the economic and social activities reveals from the fact that through this sector the movement of goods and people is performed in order to satisfy the material and spiritual needs of the society. However, in long term, the transport sector has a significant role in degrading the quality of the air and witch affects directly or indirectly the health of the population. In the period 2007-2018 there was a significant increase i...

THE IMPORTANCE OF VEHICLE STEERING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS IN REDUCING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Mihai Gingarasu, Elena Mereuţă, Valentin Amorțilă, Costel Humelnicu, Monica Novetschi)

The worldwide exponential increase of vehicles in operation generates, in addition to meeting transport needs, serious problems with environmental pollution. Vehicle pollution means not only pollution with exhaust emissions, but also tire pollution. Microparticles resulting from the interaction between tire and driveway or waste tires have a negative impact on the environment, regarding air, water and soil pollution. Solutions to reduce this type of pollution are not only the subsequent treatment or reuse of waste...

EXPERIMENTAL TEST FOR EXHAUST GASES RECIRCULATION SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC BASED ON GAS INDEX COEFFICIENT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Valentin Amortila, Elena Mereuta, Daniel Ganea, Madalina Rus, Silvia Veresiu)

The aim of this paper is to present a detailed method for exhaust gases recirculation system (EGR) diagnostics for a compression ignition engine. In this paper, we analyzed the gas index coefficient, Kmax [m-1], using a Johnson Controls пїЅ Ultimax 600 opacimeter while the vehicle was in static state but at different engine speeds. The minimal rotation speed, nmin, had a value of 822 [rpm] while the maximum, nmax, 5006 [rpm]. In this case, was used the absorption process for measuring. The dynamic test imply using...
