This paper deals with disinfection of drinking water at пїЅAquatim S.AпїЅ. The disinfection plant is part of an investment plan to provide conformation with the Romanian Law 485/2002 concerning drinking water quality and European Union Water Frame Directive. The new facility employs modern techniques of storage, dosage, injection and neutralization of chlorine. The paper aims to present the possibility of using surface water resource for irrigation in local arrangements in the West Plain of Romania. Irrigation is among the biggest consumers of freshwater worldwide and water demands for irrigation in Bega River basin are continuously increasing.
