PLACER TAILINGS: -NEW- NANOGOLD AND TECHNOLOGIES OF DEVELOPMENT

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Boris Osovetsky)

Large territories in many countries of the world are occupied by tailings after placer gold excavation, including Russia (the Urals, Altai, Yakutia, Chukotka, etc.). The technologies of gold excavation for placers were intended for extraction of the most wide-spread gold grains. As a result, small gold particles were often removed in tailings. Long period of staying of fine gold particles in tailings has been accompanying the process of ?new? metal (secondary gold) origin. Detailed investigations of ?new? gold (gr...

SUSPENDED LOAD OF RIVERS AS AN INDICATOR OF TECHNOGENIC POLLUTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Boris Osovetsky)

The area of intensively polluted territories in the world has been constantly increasing. The ecological situation within such territories is rather difficult. As to Russia one of these territories is the Urals. It is the populated region with a lot of wastes after very long period of mining activity (extraction of gold, platinum metals, salts, coal, diamonds, precious stones, copper, iron, oil, etc.). The special litho-monitoring program is worked out by the Perm University scientists with the purpose to control ...

NANO-EMPTINESS SPACE OF COLLECTORS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Boris Osovetsky)

The structure of the emptiness space of the oil reservoir rocks has been studied using high-resolution electron microscopy methods. Particular attention is paid to unconventional oil and gas reservoirs, among which argillites are finely divided. In them, the share of the nano-emptiness space is much higher than in typical carbonate and terrigenous reservoirs. The presence of a significant number of nano-cracks, which are either a continuation of micro-cracks, or independent of them, is established. A certain amoun...

NATURAL NANOTECHNOLOGIES IN GOLD MINING

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Boris Osovetsky)

The processes of nanogold deposition and concentration in the environment, which have been occurring with enlargement of metal grain size, may be considered as the natural nanotechnologies. The mechanisms of nanogold concentrations in geological objects are established and described on the example of many deposits in Russia (the Urals, Siberia) and abroad (Canada). They produce different morphological and chemical aggregations of gold nanoparticles. Among them variable growths on the placer metal surface, globular...
