STUDY ON OPTIMIZING THE OPERATION OF A WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IN ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Iacob, C., Deac, A., Chira, T., Bolboaca, A.)

Considering the widespread pollution and the need for taking drastic measures to protect the environment, it is necessary to constantly optimize the treatment stages within the wastewater treatment plants in order to meet the quality standards when discharging wastewater into surface water. The paper presents a study on a wastewater treatment plant in Romania that serves a municipality with a population of approximately 400,000 inhabitants, having a sewerage network working in a unitary system. The study followed ...

ELASTOMERIC COMPOUNDS FOR SPACE APPLICATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Faron, Aleksandra, Spisakova, M., Mandicak, T., Novozhilov, E., Szturcova, M.)

Sealing solutions play a crucial role in any space application. In this paper we present the production and characterization of elastomeric composites for rubber seals used to prevent unwanted loss of gas or liquid. We selected the following types of elastomers: ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymers (EPDM), butyl rubber (IIR) and bromobutyl rubber (Br-IIR) that have a good behaviour in the low temperature conditions of the cosmic space. Two bipolymeric EPDM/IIR and EPDM/Br-IIR compounds were made, containing other ...

STUDY OF PERFORMANCE INDICATORS AT A WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT IN ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Iacob, C., Deac, A., Chira, T., Bolboaca, A.)

Considering the increasing generalized pollution and tightening of environmental protection regulations, it is necessary to constantly optimize the treatment technologies, in order to meet the quality standards when discharging wastewater into surface water. The paper presents a study on a wastewater treatment plant in Romania that serves a municipality with a population of approximately 400,000 inhabitants, having a sewerage network working in a unitary system. The main indicators of the waste water quality (flow...

INTRODUCTION OF BIOCONTROL AGENTS OF FUSARIOUSIS ON THE COMPOSTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Schlosser, T., C?payov?, S., Hod?kov?, D., Schlosser, P., Semenescu, A.)

In the process of growing organic products farms face many problems including the need to treat phytopathogens without fungicides or to increase yields without mineral fertilizers. In organic farming, agents of biological control as well as nonconventional organic fertilizers can be used to achieve these goals. One of the main problems with biocontrol agents is that their survival after introduction into soil may be very different since it depends on many biotic and abiotic factors in soil ecosystems. The problems...
