MAGNETIC SEPARATION OF COLEMANITE FROM ORE AND TAILINGS OF KESTELEK (TURKEY) PLANT

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2004, I. Alp, H. Ozdag, H. Deveci, E.Y. Yazici)

This paper presents the results of magnetic separation tests for the recovery of colemanite from the ore and the tailings produced in Kestelek (Turkey) Processing Plant. Crushed ore (30.76\% B2O3) and tailings (31.76\% B2O3) samples were wet screened and classified into different size fractions. Size fractions coarser than 75 $\mu$m were subjected to three-stage magnetic separation using a high intensity permanent magnetic separator. The mineralogical composition of the ore and the tailings appears to enable gangu...

PROCESSING OF GOLD FROM MASTRA (GUMUSHANE-TURKEY) ORE BY KNELSON GRAVITY CONCENTRATOR

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2004, I. Alp, O. Celep, H. Deveci, E.Y. Yazici)

In this study, the mineralogical properties and the amenability of Mastra (G\"um\"uşhane-Turkey) gold ore to gravity recovery using a Knelson Concentrator were examined. The mineralogical analysis of the ore has shown that gold occurs as particles of 1-300 mm in size. In the gravity tests performed on the ground ore (-74 •m) a concentrate containing 771.95 g/t Au was produced at 47.15 \% recovery and 1.58\% yield. Enrichment ratios of Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni and As were found to be 29.7; 16.7; 2.9; 1.58; 3.15; 1...

DETERMINATION OF THE DEGREE OF LIBERATION AND OPTIMUM GRIND TIME OF KAYABAЕћI- TRABZON (TURKEY) CU-ZN MASSIVE ORE

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2003, I. Alp, T. Yilmaz, E. Y. Yazici, O. Celep)

Detailed geological and drilling investigations have shown KayabaЕџД± deposit, located in Trabzon-Turkey, has a resource of 590 000 tons ore containing 2.2\% Cu and 1029 kg Au. The ore body shows the characteristics of both massive- and stockworktype sulfide mineralization. In this study, mineralogical analysis and flotation tests were performed to determine the degree of liberation of sulfides and the optimum grind time for the massive ore samples. Covellite and chalcocite were identified as the main copper miner...
