Upper Paleozoic carbonate-terrigenous deposits are widespread in the southwestern part of South Kazakhstan: in the Syr Darya, Aral, Chu-Sarysu and South Torgai sedimentary basins Karatau mountains, the Ugam ridge, as well as in the adjacent territories of Uzbekistan.
