Grouping plants by functional traits provides valuable ecological insights and supports the creation of resilient perennial assemblages for urban landscapes. The ecological strategies (CSR) of eight ornamental grasses were assessed using key leaf traits, including leaf area (LA), leaf fresh weight (LFW), and leaf dry weight (LDW). Based on these measurements, additional leaf-level indices were calculated, such as the leaf succulence index (LSI), leaf mass per area (LMA), leaf dry matter content (LDMC), and specifi...

IMPACT OF BIOCARBON ON AGROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF SOIL DURING BROCCOLI VEGETATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-12-20, Vera Petrova, Milena Yordanova, Tsvetelina Nikolova, Elena Tsvetkova)

Biochar is mainly used in agriculture to increase soil fertility and water retention, which leads to improved plant growth. As a result, it improves the overall productivity of agriculture. A field experiment was carried out on alluvial - meadow soil. Six variants have been developed, with the increasing rate of biochar and organic fertilization as a background. The tested crops are broccoli. The aim of the study is to evaluate the combined application of carbonized plant residues and manure as a soil improver on ...
