MODEL FOR ASSESSING THE ECOLOGICAL AND LANDSCAPE VALUE OF A PARK IN THE URBAN ECOSYSTEM

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, C. Berar, C. Toţa, F. Sala)

This study analyzed the vegetation structure and the ecosystem and landscape attributes within a park in Timisoara, Romania, in the context of the current ecoclimatic urban environment conditions. The "Regina Maria" Park in Timisoara, Romania, which is the oldest park in Timisoara, was studied. The study used in situ study methods for vegetation inventory and vegetation study by age class (EC), height (H, m), crown diameter (CD, m), and structure volume (SV). Ecological value (EV) and landscape value (LV) were qua...

Land improvements refer to measures and works carried out on agricultural or non-agricultural land to increase its value, sustainability and productivity. These improvements are intended to optimize land use, increase efficiency and support economic development. The purpose of this research was to describe the redesign of an irrigation canal, to present the necessary measurements, and to record the results. In this study, we have presented the steps necessary for measuring an irrigation canal and for drawing up lo...

TERRITORIAL STRUCTURE AND PLANT SPECIES IN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL BALANCE - CASE STUDY IN THE 'BOTANICAL PARK' TIMISOARA, ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, C. Toţa, C. Berar, F. Sala)

The study analyzed the territorial structure and the vegetation structure with a role in the architectural and landscape balance of the 'Botanical Park' in Timisoara, Romania. Four plots were identified (P1 - P4), and within each plot, three subplots were identified (A, B, C). There were 12 study variants, T1 - T12. The total area of the plots (S, m2) varied between 15816 m2 (P1) and 25904 m2 (P3). The total number of arboreal and shrub loid, softwood and deciduous specimens were determined in each subplot. There ...

USE OF GEOMATIC TECHNOLOGIES IN LAND SURFACE ANALYSIS - CASE STUDY A.T.U. BARZAVA, ARAD COUNTY

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, Cosmin Popescu, Mihai Valentin Herbei, Adina Horablaga, Codruța Bădăluță-Minda, F. Sala)

Remote sensing techniques are increasingly used in land surface monitoring processes. The development of satellite systems has led to increasingly complex research in terms of analysis and monitoring of large land areas, with reduced costs and high efficiency. In this research, a satellite scene from 03.07.2024 taken over by the Landsat 9 remote sensing system was used, the scene identifier being LC09_L2SP_186028_20240730_20240731_02_T1, WRS_PATH 186 and WRS_ROW 28, UTM projection system, Datum WGS84, Ellipsoid WG...

MODELS FOR DESCRIBING THE DYNAMICS OF FOREST VEGETATION BASED ON REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUES

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Ciprian Buzna, Marinel Nicolae Horablaga, Mihai Valentin Herbei, F. Sala)

The study analyzed forest vegetation in the "Bazos Dendrological Park" area, Timis County, Romania, in order to describe the seasonal variation of the vegetation through imaging analysis based on satellite images (Sentinel 2). The study took place in the period 2021-2022, and each year 7 sets of images (T1 - T7) were taken between the months of April and August. NDMI, NDVI and NBR indices were calculated from the analysis of satellite images. Among the calculated indices, very strong correlations were found betwee...
