PRELIMINARY EVALUATION OF STUDY OF SARBAND GRAPHITE DEPOSITS WITH GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL METHODS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, H. Ramazi, A. A. Firoozi, M. R. Hosseinnejad)

This paper is devoted to geological and geophysical exploration of Sarband graphite deposits in Markazi province of Iran includes Khanadarreh Bala and Vesmestan deposits. Geological methods include trenching and drilling test pits and exploratory holes, sampling and analyzing with XRD and chemical analysis. This method show that Khanadarreh Bala deposits has purer graphite than Vesmestan and hosted in schistisited rocks and has higher continuity than Vesmestan deposit. Geophysical methods include SP ,mise-a-la-mas...

ROCK MASS QUALITY EVALUATION IN BAKHTIARY DAM SITE USING SEISMIC METHODS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, H. Ramazi, M. Hossaini)

This paper present a geophysical investigation performed for the Bakhtiary dam site in Iran. As it has been designed with 330 meter high, this dam would be the highest dam in the world. In the context of engineering seismology, seismic tomography may be relevant in problems where seismic refraction is currently used. Both of these techniques aim to detect subsurface velocity. In Bakhtiary dam site we used seismic refraction, tomography and borehole seismic tomography methods. For refraction seismic method Geotomo ...

SEISMOTECTONIC AND EARTHQUAKE HAZARD ANALYS QOM PROVINCE, (IRAN)

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2005, H. Ramazi, G. Heidari)

This paper presents the results of an assessment of the earthquake hazard for the Qom province, based on seismotectonic conditions, regional earthquake data and seismicity analyses. The active faults and potential seismic sources of the region are identified and illustrated in a seismotectonic map. A model of earthquake sources has been prepared. The appropriate acceleration attenuation laws are selected and earthquake hazard analysis has been done for the province using an analysis point interval scale of 0.1*0.1...

SEISMOTECTONIC AND EARTHQUAKE HAZARD ANALYSIS FOR HAMADAN AREA

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2004, H. Ramazi, G. Heidari)

This paper is devoted to a seismotectonic study and earthquake hazard assessment for the Hamadan area. The major faults, active faults and potential seismic sources as well as the moderate and large earthquakes in the region are identified and illustrated in a seismotectonic map. The appropriate attenuation laws are selected according to seismotectonic characteristics of the region and site geology of the area. A model of the earthquake sources are prepared and earthquake hazard analysis has been done for the area...
