The aim of the paper is to highlight the potential of old mining regions for the development of geotourism. The region of Central Spis was known for its long-standing mining and industrial activity. The aim of this paper is to point out to conception of remediation approaches in the mining landscape after ending of mining. Remediation is technically and financially very demanding.
