The mineralogical analysis is a highly effective method of prospecting diamond-hosting rocks. The main goal of investigating kimberlites rocks, the primary source of diamonds, is to examine the mineral composition of kimberlites. The microprobe analysis is currently the principal method to define the compositions of megacryst minerals from kimberlite rocks.
