AN ANALYSIS OF THE SOUND LEVEL ON TWO ROMANIAN CARGO SHIPS TRAVELING ON THE DANUBE RIVER

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Laurențiu Picu, Eugen Rusu)

Aboard a ship, the noise is a sum of several factors: equipment (engines, propellers, compressors), and the waves (if the Danube is very hectic), etc. The noise leads to discomfort for the crew. This paper studies the noises on 2 river vessels traveling on the Danube between Sulina and Budapest, in February and April 2019. The noises were measured with Blue Solo sonometer and analyzed with dBTRAIT Software. The determinations were made while running, in the engine room and in the control room. To check the noise l...

QUANTIFICATION OF VIBRATION AND NOISE TRANSMITTED TO NAVIGATION PERSONNEL ON A CARGO SHIP ON THE DANUBE IN A META-ANALYSIS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Laurențiu Picu, Eugen Rusu, Mihaela Picu)

This paper analyses the vibrations and noises transmitted to the seafaring staff on a cargo river ship on the Danube between Novi Sad and Sulina. The ship has 5 people as sailing personnel: 1 captain, 1 coxswain, 1 mechanic, 2 sailors. The trip was made in the fall of 2018. Parallel measurements were made on the main bridge as well as inside the engines room, in three situations: ship leaving the shore, running and mooring maneuver. We measured and calculated the main vibration parameters: Vibration magnitude r.m....

AN ANALYSIS OF THE NOISE IN THE ENGINE ROOM - CASE STUDY A MERCHANT SHIP NAVIGATING ON DANUBE

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Laurențiu Picu)

This paper presents a cross-sectional analysis of the noise inside the engine room of a commercial ship that navigates a section of the Romanian Danube segment. The noises of river ships are heard inside the ship by the crew as well as by the passengers, but also on the outside of the ship by the aquatic and riverside fauna. Determinations took place on a 6-bar pusher ship for 3 days, on the Danube, between 17 and 19 February 2018, on the route Braila (170 km) - Calarasi (km 365). On average, were made about 100 k...

NOISE ANALYSIS ON THE NAVIGATION BRIDGE FOR A BOAT TRAVELING ON THE DANUBE RIVER

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Laurențiu Picu)

This paper presents a cross-sectional analysis of the noise on the navigation bridge of a commercial ship that navigates a section of the Romanian Danube segment. This room is important because here are given all the commands for safe navigation so the conditions inside it must be of the highest quality. Determinations were carried out on the pusher, between Braila and Calarasi, in February 2018, in very difficult weather conditions. The noise was measured with BlueSolo 01dB sonometers. These were placed on the na...

STUDY OF THE VIBRATION TRANSMITTED TO THE CREW BY THE EQUIPMENT OF A RIVERBOAT BEFORE REPAIRS

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Laurențiu Picu)

This paper examines the level of vibrations transmitted to the crew on a river ship. This ship made a test cruise on the Danube, between Braila and Galati, round-trip (32Km). This cruise was done before the ship was repaired, to compare the levels of vibrations before and after the repairs and to check their efficiency. There were determined both the vibrations produced by the ship's equipment (engine, generator) and those to which crew members are subjected in the areas where they spend most of their time. To det...

EVALUATION OF HUMAN EXPOSURE TO WHOLE-BODY VIBRATION - VERIFICATION METHOD OF STEVENS'S POWER LAW

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Laurențiu Picu)

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate human exposure to whole-body vibration on a ship and to find a relationship between the value of the vibration parameters transmitted by a ship sailing on the Danube to the sailors and the magnitude of their perception. Experimental: A) Whole body vibrations transmitted to sailors working on a ship sailing on the Danube were measured. The experiments were made in the summer and the Danube had small waves. There were 3 subjects that were placed successively for 30 minutes in...
