THE POSSIBLE INFLUENCE OF THE DAM BREACH OF THE KAKHOVSKE RESERVOIR ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SHORES OF THE DNIPROVSKO-BUZKY LIMAN

(STEF92 Technology, 2023-10-01, Oleksiy V. Davydov, А. В. П’яткова, Andrii Cherniavskyi)

The Dniprovsko-Buzky liman is a semi-enclosed water body located in the lower part of the mouth area (estuary) of the Dnipro and the Pivdennyy Bug. The studied liman is located within a tectonic depression that is characterized by asymmetric slopes. The northern slope of the depression is steeper and characterized by a predominance of positive tectonic movements. The southern slope is very gentle, and negative tectonic movements take place within it. The specified tectonic conditions determine the lithological, mo...

RESULTS OF AN EXPERIMENT ON THE CREATION OF AN ARTIFICIAL AEOLIAN FORM ALONG THE SEA COAST OF THE KINBURNSKA-POKROVSKA-DOVHIY COASTAL BARRIER, BLACK SEA

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Oleksiy V. Davydov, Alexander Stoyan, Alexander Murkalov, Vasyli Chaus)

Global climate changes, sea level rising, storm activity intensification, and increasing anthropogenic pressure are causing the activation of destructive processes along the coasts of the World Ocean. The corresponding processes are appeared at the most dangerous rates within the coastal barriers. Within the Black Sea, the total length of coastal barriers is 990 km, 703 km of which are within Ukraine. Corresponding barriers develop in conditions of active wave action and a general deficit of sediments. The maximum...

MORPHOSTRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF COASTAL ZONE OF KHERSON REGION, UKRAINE

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Oleksiy V. Davydov)

The connection between tectonic conditions of development and geomorphological features of the coast of Kherson region was analyzed in the relevant article. Geomorphological features of coastal zone were considered from the position of block structure of Karkinit-Sivash system of troughs. For the first time the attention was referred to the tectonic dependence of morphological and morphostructural features of coastal zone of research region. It was established that the mosaic of natural environment is typical feat...
