The fact of interaction of calcium silicate with the key elements present in the spent nuclear fuel is established. Nanopowders of synthetic calcium silicate with a given particle size 10, 2 and 0.6 microns were obtained. It was found experimentally that a decrease in the particle size of the calcium silicate powder contributes to an increase in its sorption properties (distribution coefficients and static exchange capacity).
