A SYSTEM FOR MULTIPOINT MEASUREMENT OF WIND PARAMETERS FOR OPTIMIZING THE LOCATION OF SMALL WIND TURBINES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Wojciech Miaskowski)

Energy production from renewable sources, such as wind energy, in small-scale generation systems can be increased by improving the efficiency of power generating equipment and expanding the applicability of the implemented technologies. The performance of wind turbines can be improved by developing solutions that expand the range of wind speeds over which energy can be effectively generated and by optimizing the location of wind turbines. The presented system for multipoint measurement of wind parameters (SMMWP) i...

ANALYSIS OF THE WORK QUALITY OF DC/AC CONVERTERS IN AN AUTONOMOUS OR QUASI-AUTONOMOUS LIGHTING POINT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Krzysztof Nalepa, Wieslaw Komar, Andrzej Lange, Wojciech Miaskowski, Maciej Neugebauer)

Co-operation of renewable energy sources (photovoltaic cells or micro-wind turbines) with 230V receivers, eg LED substitutions of traditional light sources, requires the conversion of low voltage direct current electricity to 230V AC. Various designs of DC/AC converters intended for island operation and synchronized with the power grid were tested. The Hioki 3196 energy quality analyzer was used for the study. The stand-alone systems are used in voltage converters of very simple solutions converting DC power to AC...

START-STOP ANALYSIS OF HIGH-SPEED BEARINGS WITH A FLEXIBLE BUSHING

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Wojciech Miaskowski)

The current demand for energy production in dissipated systems and the related need for miniaturization of power machines require the use of appropriate technical solutions. Increasingly, power generation microsystems are used to produce electricity that functions in hermetic circuits (e.g. ORC - Organic Rankine Cycle). Rotors of such type of machinery, in order to generate the expected amount of energy, must rotate at speeds up to 100,000 rpm. Rotational speeds of this order represent significant problems in the ...

TRANSFORMATION OF A FIXED WEIR INTO A HYDRO-POWER FACILITY

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Krzysztof Nalepa, Wojciech Miaskowski, Maciej Neugebauer, Wieslaw Komar, Pawel Bzdera)

A technical design with an economic and energy analysis of transforming an existing water weir built in 1920 to create point-of-use water for the technological needs of a local sugar factory. Since the closure of the sugar factory, the weir has only served to stabilize the river bed. Conceptual discussions were carried out and a technical solution was proposed to convert the regulatory weir into an energy facility. Because of the small catchment area of 175.5 km2, the energy potential of this facility is low - wit...
