ASSESSMENT OF SEACOASTS SELF-CLEANING CAPACITY IN CASE OF OIL POLLUTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Andrey Kuznetsov, Y.A. Fedorov, Paul Fattal)

The sea coasts and estuaries are especially exposed to the oil pollution harmful influence as they frequently suffer from oil spills relating to the tanker accidents, port and off-shore activities. The objective of the present research is to examine the rates of spilled fuel oil natural destruction on geographically different seacoasts and to assess their self-cleaning capacity. For this purpose, a number of contaminated sectors of the Atlantic coasts of France and Spain (areas of пїЅErikaпїЅ and пїЅPrestigeпїЅ ta...

GAS COMPOSITION OF SULPHIDE MUDS OF ANAPA DISTRICT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Y. A. Fedorov, Roman Trubnik)

The results of Chembursky lake, Vityazevsky, Kiziltashsky and Bugazsky coastal salt lakes expeditionary research are observed, aimed to examine the allocation of methane and sulfur sulfide (total sulfide) according to the vertical cut of bottom sediments (sulfidic muds), and also the value of Eh and pH. pH and Eh values in the examined horizons of coastal salt lakes bottom sediments vary correspondingly in the limits from 7.33пїЅ8.06 and -198пїЅ-2.5 mV, in the Chembursky lake sediments пїЅ 7.47пїЅ7.64 ? -78пїЅ+46 ...

IRON: DISTRIBUTION, FORMS OF OCCURRENCE AND MIGRATION INTO SURFACE WATERS OF THE EASTERN DONBASS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Y. A. Fedorov, L. M. Predeina, Leonid Yu. Dmitrik, I. V. Dotsenko)

The article presents data on the spatial distribution, concentrations and forms of the location and migration of iron in surface waters within the Russian territory of the Eastern Donbass. A map of the distribution of dissolved iron in the investigated territory is constructed. The areas with the highest levels of contamination with this metal have been identified. The tendency to decrease the level of total iron in the water in the direction of: small rivers of coal mining and processing areas, as well as storage...

METHANE AND HYDROGEN SULFIDE IN BOTTOM SEDIMENTS OF SMALL RIVERS AND RESERVOIRS OF THE EASTERN DONBASS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Y. A. Fedorov, D. N. Garkusha, Roman Trubnik)

The results of methane and total hydrogen sulphide detection in bottom sediments of small rivers as well as fresh and slightly saline water bodies of the Eastern Donbass are presented. The content of CH4 in sediments of water bodies of Eastern Donbass varies between 0.04-26.8 ?g/g wet mass (w.m.), ?H2S content varies from to less 0.005 than 4.02 mg/g w.m. The maximum concentrations of methane were recorded in the bottom sediments of the Glubokaya River (Station No. 7), while the maximum of the content ?H2S is conf...

PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL AND HYDROLOGICAL CONDITIONS AS A FACTOR INFLUENCING THE DISTRIBUTION AND BEHAVIOR OF MERCURY IN THE SMALL RIVERS OF THE SUBARCTIC AREA OF THE EUROPEAN TERRITORY OF RUSSIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Y.A. Fedorov, V.A. Savitsky, Alina Zimovets, Asya Ovsepyan)

The increased vulnerability of the aquatic landscapes of Subarctic of the European part of Russia to anthropogenic impact is a consequence of natural conditions and its geographical location. In this regard, the study of small rivers and their catchments which are remote from the direct influence of the industrial and residential zones is of particular interest to researchers, since they can be considered as background areas of the Subarctic. One of these rivers is Kyanda flowing into the Onega Bay of the White Se...
