RENEWABLE ENERGY - FLOATING SOLAR FARMS IN ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2023-10-01, Michael Frătița, Eugen Rusu, Florin Popescu, Ion Ion, Răzvan Mahu)

The paper presents the possibility of floating photovoltaic farms on the reservoirs of the Olt river in Romania. For the analysis, a database with the solar irradiance evolution for one year in the four possible locations was created, using the PVGIS-SARAH2 database. The locations were chosen according to the surface area of the reservoir, geographical position, and possibility of connection to the national energy system. After the analysis, it was observed that during the cold season, the solar irradiance is high...

A SPATIAL ASSESSMENT OF THE ROMANIAN NEARSHORE WIND CONDITIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Alina Girleanu, Eugen Rusu, Florin Onea)

In this study, based on a relatively high resolution wind database (ERA5), an assessment of the nearshore wind conditions in the western part of the Black Sea was conducted. From the reanalysis of the wind datasets provided by the ERA5 product, significant differences between the onshore and offshore wind power were identified, with the offshore regions being more resourceful than the onshore ones. Generally, the appeal of a site for a wind farm project is determined throughout a classification of the wind classes...

AN INSIGHT INTO THE ROMANIAN ENERGY MARKET IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE EUROPEAN GREEN DEAL

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Alina Girleanu, Eugen Rusu, Florin Onea)

The present study's primary purpose is to evaluate and provide a more comprehensive, unbiased and helpful picture of the Romanian energy potential, highlighting the emerging renewable resources. Firstly, several indices are taken into consideration to underline the Romanian energy portfolio structure. The installed capacities and the country's power generation, carbon dioxide emissions, nuclear generation and consumption, and renewables power are among the critical indices used in this project. The data and result...

WIND CONDITION ANALYSIS AND PARTIAL REPOWERING CONCEPT FOR FANTANELE - COGEALAC ONSHORE PROJECT

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Victoria Yildirir, Eugen Rusu, Florin Onea)

The wind energy is substantially growing in the last decade, but the biggest challenge remains the prediction of the performances of the wind turbines. The increasing energy demand and climate changes forced us to commit quick decisions and to develop efficient solutions. One of the solutions can be repowering and significant changes in transmission systems to deliver it through the electric grid. Fantanele Cogealac is the largest onshore wind farm in Romania. The wind farm exist since 2012, so in at least 10 year...

A NEW VISION ON THE SHAPE OF WIND TURBINES BLADES TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY OF RENEWABLE ENERGY PRODUCTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Cristina Călin, Eugen Rusu, Ștefan Dragomir)

The increase in the price for non-renewable energy resources has led to the finding of cheap alternative fuel solutions that can meet the growing demand for energy. The objective for the researchers is to use renewable energy as an alternative energy source to produce green energy. Over time, researchers have developed several types of shapes for the wind turbine: small, which have a generation capacity of 50-60 KW of power; On average, they have a capacity between 50-1500 KW and large, capable with a capacity of ...

AN ANALYSIS OF THE SOUND LEVEL ON TWO ROMANIAN CARGO SHIPS TRAVELING ON THE DANUBE RIVER

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Laurențiu Picu, Eugen Rusu)

Aboard a ship, the noise is a sum of several factors: equipment (engines, propellers, compressors), and the waves (if the Danube is very hectic), etc. The noise leads to discomfort for the crew. This paper studies the noises on 2 river vessels traveling on the Danube between Sulina and Budapest, in February and April 2019. The noises were measured with Blue Solo sonometer and analyzed with dBTRAIT Software. The determinations were made while running, in the engine room and in the control room. To check the noise l...

COGENERATION SYSTEM OF ENERGY WITH GAS TURBINE AND THERMAL ENGINE

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Cristina Călin, Eugen Rusu, Ștefan Dragomir)

Cogeneration equipment is generally classified according to the power source for the production of energy and the size of the electrical power. Low power cogeneration refers to those with powers up to 1 MWe, and those of medium power reach 25 ? 40 MWe. The overall efficiency of primary fuel use, under favorable conditions, can exceed 90%. Currently there are different solutions for low / medium power cogeneration, whose technologies are well developed. For a properly designed low power cogeneration the investment ...

LONG TERM PREDICTION OF WIND SPEED WITH ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Gheorghe Stăvărache, Valerian Novac, Sorin Ciortan, Eugen Rusu)

The paper presents a methodology, based on artificial neural networks, for the offshore wind speed values long-term prediction. One of the most available renewable energy is the wind energy. The offshore wind turbines placement presents some benefits comparing with onshore one, like lower environmental impact and long-term stability of surroundings geometry. Of course, there are also drawbacks, like difficult set-up and maintenance or expensive transmission systems for the converted energy. Over all, the off-shore...

QUANTIFICATION OF VIBRATION AND NOISE TRANSMITTED TO NAVIGATION PERSONNEL ON A CARGO SHIP ON THE DANUBE IN A META-ANALYSIS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Laurențiu Picu, Eugen Rusu, Mihaela Picu)

This paper analyses the vibrations and noises transmitted to the seafaring staff on a cargo river ship on the Danube between Novi Sad and Sulina. The ship has 5 people as sailing personnel: 1 captain, 1 coxswain, 1 mechanic, 2 sailors. The trip was made in the fall of 2018. Parallel measurements were made on the main bridge as well as inside the engines room, in three situations: ship leaving the shore, running and mooring maneuver. We measured and calculated the main vibration parameters: Vibration magnitude r.m....
