The combination of polyester polyhydroxybutyrate with polysaccharide chitosan allow to increase the terms of biodegradation and improve the mechanical characteristics of biomaterial. The investigation of compatibility of the polymers in the composition demonstrates that the content of polyhydroxybutyrate in the composition should not exceed 60% weight. In this study preparation of oil absorbent composite is described. Polyacrylic acid / Na-montmorillonite composite was synthesized by polymerization of acrylic acid on the surface of the sodium bentonite. FTIR spectrum of absorbent was recorded, and it was shown that polyacrylic acid reacted with bentonite layers.
