In this survey, analysis of statistical results of water resource has been conducted in "Bastam" study area in Semnan province. This water resource includes well, spring, kanat, divergence stream from river, dike, diversion dam and pumping station. This statistical result was conducted according to the standard forms of power ministry of Iran in the desert and the recorded information is prepared into a database, on basis of 1:50000 maps in GIS environment for spatial and descriptive analysis. In addition, by surv...

Climate is result of effects of aero-logy phenomenal and view intermediate atmosphere in ideal area. Climate have wide meanings and cover aero-logy parameters like physical, chemical and may be biological factors and it could expressed that nowadays lot’s of different ways have been based for characterizing climate. In this research by employing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and also Du marten \& selyaninov climatology methods, microzonation of Halvan study area, which has located in central basin of Iran...

Optimized site selections for urban facilities and services could be mentioned as one of the most important factor in urban management. In this context, several factors influence on decision making for site selection that by considering each of them, management could optimize the usage of equipments by employing the standard criteria. In this study, with regard to different criteria in selecting appropriate waste storage locations, which reaches both economic-technical and environmental considerations, and by empl...

COMPARISON OF EXPERIMENTAL ARCHING PHENOMENA RESULTS OF SANDY SOIL WITH LIMIT EQUILIBRIUM METHOD

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, M. Makarchian, M. Ahmadi)

The ratio of observed vertical stress to its theoretical value in a soil mass which has settlement potential could be defined as arching ratio. This phenomenon could be observed in some projects, such as earth-fill dams, tunnels, and piles. Arching in earthfill dams may results in hydraulic fracture due to increase of pore water pressure, is the most important result of arching. Hydraulic fracture causes internal cracking of clay core which in turn results in more water seepage. To evaluate the arching effect, an ...

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS COUPLING MODEL TO PREDICT MEAN YEARLY PRECIPITATION IN STUDY AREAS, CASE STUDY: DENA SUB BASIN, KOHGILOUYE PROVINCE, IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, M. Ahmadi, S. Partani, M. Parsoon)

One of the main purposes of GIS is to provide organization with increased information and analyzing spatial data. A GIS can become increasingly more valuable in prediction of quantitative or qualitative variables in no measured locations when coupled to Artificial Intelligence (AI). ANN is one of the AI fields that is a highly simplified model for the biological structure of a human brain. An ANN when linked to GIS, can be useful for evaluating, monitoring, decision making and of course predicting. In this study, ...
