3D MODEL OF SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF AUTOCHTHONOUS MIOCENE DEPOSITIONAL COMPLEXES ALONG CARPATHIAN FRONT IN REGION BOCHNIA - PRZEMYSL, POLAND

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Bartosz Papiernik, Magdalena Krzysztofik, Michal Michna)

Carpathian Foredeep (CFD) is a mature Petroleum Province, where conventional biogenic gas has been produced since 1950s. At present the CFD is again object of petroleum prospecting, this time, as unconventional gas province. To improve resolution of this analysis, regional 3D structural model was constructed and divided into six main depositional complexes by developed on the basis of seismic data and geophysical logs interpretation. The model is located along the front of the Carpathians covering area ~4500 km2. ...

HYDROCARBON POTENTIAL OF ORDOVICIAN AND SILURIAN SHALE COMPLEXES IN THE CENTRAL PART OF THE BALTIC BASIN, POLAND - CASE STUDY

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Bartosz Papiernik, Bartlomiej Liana, Michal Michna, Gabriel Zabek, Justyna Zajac)

Shale gas potential assessments completed in 2010 for the Baltic Basin (BB) were very optimistic. They placed most of the central part of the BB in the gas window, indicating high prospectiveness of the most of Ordovician, Llandovery and Wenlock deposits. The paper presents results of multicomponent spatial geomodelling, which strongly modify this concept. The model covers area located in the central part of the BB, comprising Kartuzy Szemud and Stara Kiszewa concession blocks. Its area is about 300 km2 and it inc...

STRUCTURAL AND PARAMETRICAL ANALYSIS OF FAULTS DEFORMING LOWER PALEOZOIC STRATA IN CENTRAL PART OF THE BALTIC BASIN, POLAND

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Michal Michna)

Faults can act both as seal and as pathways for fluid migration and therefore correct evaluation of fault zone properties is one of key element for conventional hydrocarbon reservoir management. Nevertheless, the unconventional plays deformed by faults became increasingly in demand for petroleum industry. Lower Paleozoic sediments in central part of Baltic Basin are considered as potential unconventional shale gas system. Key TOC-rich intervals in the area of interest are Caradoc Sasino Formation and Lower Llandov...
