This review paper provides a comprehensive overview of contemporary traffic survey approaches, focusing on advanced data acquisition platforms and AI-based video analytics. The study highlights a significant transformation in traffic engineering, where traditional data collection methods are being complemented by modern solutions to provide detailed behavioral and safety-related insights. Central to this shift is the use of surrogate safety measures (SSMs) based on traffic conflicts and near-miss events, such as T...

CONTRIBUTION TO THE ISSUES OF THE MINE GAS METHANE OUTPUT IN THE OSTRAVA-KARVINA COALFIELD

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Martin Stolarik, Miroslav Pinka, Radovan Kukutsch)

Ostrava city and Karvina city has a long history of mining. Over time in Ostrava there has been a decline in mining activity. But closed coal mine may be performed in the correct disposal of heavy burden on their surroundings. One of the biggest dangers are the outputs of mine gases. If gas leaks into a confined space, there is an accumulation of gas and may result in an explosion. The article presents two cases of methane explosions, which were noticed in the Ostrava-Karvina coalfield. Such an explosion had a dev...

DYNAMIC IMPACT OF THE RAIL TRAFFIC ON GEOTECHNICAL CONSTRUCTIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Miroslav Pinka, Martin Stolarik)

The volume of transported goods is still rising. Road transport is congested the most. However, still bigger and bigger pressure on more ecological ways of transport is registered due to unfavorable effects of road transport. The railway is one of the most ecological ways of transport of heavy loads. Nowadays, electric engine is the most used way of locomotives traction thanks to electrification of most of railways. This fact significantly contributes to elimination of ecological influence on environment. Thus, th...

DYNAMIC LOAD DUE TO THE TRAM IN URBAN AREA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Martin Stolarik, Miroslav Pinka, Marek Mohyla)

Vehicular traffic in major cities is the prevailing means of personal transport today. Nonetheless urban public transport has become more important. Its main advantage is the number of simultaneously transported people. This not only reduces the amount of greenhouse gases emitted, but also puts fewer passenger cars on the roads. The use of public transport is thus ecological and improves the flow of traffic in major cities. Metropolises today utilize comprehensive urban transport systems which combine metro, trams...
