GEOTECHNICAL STUDIES ON THE UNDERGROUND INFRASTRUCTURE IN SLANIC SALT MINE

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Victor Arad)

Our research has focused on ensuring the stability of the underground works with advanced techniques of non-invasive investigation and the development of an analysis of the underground infrastructure using the Finite Element Method FEM. The article is structured in three principal parts and a study to ensure the stability of the excavation was developed. The first part is about the determination of the optimal location for a possible underground laboratory based on the geological, the geotechnical and the geomecha...

VALORIZATION OF MINING WASTE IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Student Larisa Chindris, Victor Arad, Susana Arad)

Following mining and processing activity, results a significant amount of mining wastes, in the form of sterile mineral. These wastes are stored largely in mining tailing ponds or heaps. The chemical composition of the sterile material depends from one mining site to another. For long time worldwide, tailing deposits were considered waste deposits, without the possibility of future use. A few of the negative effects on the environment my constructing and exploiting mining tailing ponds, heaps, landfills, are the d...

GEOMECHANICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF ROCKS FROM SIBIU COUNTY USED IN CONSTRUCTION

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Victor Arad)

The paper summarizes the results of assessme nt of geo mechanical characteristics of rock samples collected from the Sibiu C ounty: Valea StrГўmbului-Rasinari and Valea Marajdia. The rock characteristics are infl uenced by climate factors, in particular temperature and humidity. When the phenomenon of frost occurs, rock stretches and some strains are acting that lead to a deterioration of the structure and internal stability, thereby reducing the characteristics of resistance and strength. Within this scope, sever...
