THE MERCURY POROSIMETRY METHOD IN PORE SYSTEMS CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MUDSTONES: THE CARPATHIAN FOREDEEP, POLAND

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Pstrucha, A., Machowski, G.)

The paper concerns the pores systems characterization of the Miocene mudstone samples provided by mercury injection capillary pressure (MICP) method. This analysis is the progressive intrusion of mercury into a porous structure under stringently controlled pressure. Since mercury does not wet most substances and does not spontaneously penetrate pores by capillary action, it must be forced into the pores by the application of external pressure. The required equilibrated pressure is inversely proportional to the siz...

THE PENECONTEMPORANEOUS TRANSFORMATION AND PHYSICAL-MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF TERRIGENOUS ROCKS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Baibatsha, A., Bekbotayeva, A, Satibekova, S.)

With clastic sedimentary rocks associated deposits of ore, oil-and-gas, coal and non-metallic minerals. They are located in a variety of different age strata structural-tectonic stages. Sedimentary rocks composing these fields are often framework rocks or minerals themselves are economic minerals. Depending on the age and affinity to specific structural and tectonic tier breeds are in various stages of the penecontemporaneous transformation. By the degree of transformation of organic matter in the clastic rocks ca...

PREDICTION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF SOME IRON-BASED POWDER METALLURGY MATERIALS USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Marin, M., Marin, F. B., Potecasu, F., Potecasu, O.)

A learning algorithm was used as an artificial neural network (ANN) tool to predict the mechanical properties of some iron-based powder metallurgy (P/M) materials. Specimens prepared from atomized iron powder and from pre-alloyed iron base powders powders were analyzed in this paper. The specimens were fabricated by press and sintering of the mixed powders. The samples were compressed in a universal mechanical testing machine to a pressure of 400 and 600 MPa. The sintering temperature was approximately 1.150 °C. T...

USING ACOUSTIC IMPEDANCE IN RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Malureanu, I., Stoicescu, M., Neagu, D.D., Nistor, L.M.)

Most of the wells have an associated survey suite designed for geophysical investigations, including neutron log, density log, and sonic log. These tools are used later on for singular, dual, or complex boreholes geophysical interpretation, especially for reservoir characterization in terms of lithology and porosity. It is known that the acoustic wave?s velocity through different rock types is a function of the elastic properties and density of both the mineral skeleton of that rock, and the in situ fluids, stress...

POROSITY VARIATIONS OF THE MAIN DOLOMITE ROCKS IN THE P-1 WELL (W POLAND) IN THE SCOPE OF LOW-FIELD NMR

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Radzik, N., Krzyzak, A.T., Gorka, J., Lalowicz, Z.T.)

The Zechstein Main Dolomite (Ca2) is one of the largest petroleum bearing formations in Poland. Numerous hydrocarbon deposits occur within Ca2 in the carbonate platform sediments of the Polish part of the Southern Permian Basin. Application of modern methods allows evaluation of porosity and pore size distribution and enhances the proper characterization of reservoir rocks in non-invasive way. The study concerns lowfield Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) measurements conducted on Ca2 carbonate rocks from P-1 well l...

EFFECT OF PROCESSING PARAMETERS ON MICROSTRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SOME IRON-BASED POWDER METALLURGY MATERIALS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Marin, M., Potecasu, F., Marin, F. B., Potecasu, O.)

The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of processing parameters such as pressing and sintering time on microstructural characteristics including porosity and microstructure of some iron-based powder metallurgy (PM) materials. The powders used in this study are prealloyed iron-based powders. The particle size of the powders is ranging from 45 to 150 ?m. Following mixing the powders with zinc stearate 1% for 30 minutes, the studied powders were single pressed in a die at a pressure of 600 MPa. Zn-stea...

THE INFLUENCE OF HUMAN ACTIVITY ON THE EVOLUTION OF MAIN FEATURES OF PRELUVISOIL FROM NORTHERN ZONE OF DOLJ DISTRCT - ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Popescu, C., Marin, S.)

The Dolj District is located on Oltenia Plain in the southern part of Getic Plateau. The studied territory which is the northern part of Dolj District is located on the central zone of Oltenia on the high plateau Leu-Rotunda. This area is characterized by varied natural conditions and so is the formation phenomenon of soil. As a result of soil formation factors, within the northern part of Dolj District there were formed soils that have as specific horizon the clayey one, the most encountered being preluvisoils. T...

FOSSIL-RELATED POROSITY SCANNING BY MEANS OF THE NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE AND COMPUTED MICROTOMOGRAPHY - THE PERMIAN BRONSKO REEF CARBONATES, WESTERN POLAND

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Fheed, A., Krzyzak, A., Lalowicz, Z.)

Both complicated dissolution processes and different patterns of fossils? distribution may be expected in carbonate hydrocarbon reservoirs. Therefore, this paper aims to precisely locate such places using few independent analytical tools. Five carbonate samples from the Permian Bro?sko Reef (Western Poland) were studied in a form of both thin sections and cylindrical core samples. The latter were subjected to Computed Microtomography (?CT) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) experiments. While the ?CT helped to p...
