DROUGHT INDICES AND VIS-BASED CANOPY STATUS OF VINEYARDS

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-01, Mariam Tsitsagi, Ana Palavandishvili, Zaza Gulashvili)

The study aims to evaluate how droughts impact irrigated and non-irrigated vineyards by analysing the relationship between short-term drought and vegetation indices to identify areas irrigated from unofficial sources. The re-search area includes vineyards in Telavi municipality (eastern Georgia). RStudio was used to calculate SPI and SPEI (1- month and 3-month timescales) and EDI (daily) to measure the severity of the meteorological drought. The 27-year (1993-2020) data from a weather station in the study area inc...

THERMAL INSULATION FOR WALLS BUILT WITH 3D TECHNOLOGY

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-11-15, Andrea Palazzo, Dagmar Richtrova)

Construction using 3D printer technology seems to be not just a passing trend and a growing number construction companies are approaching this new construction methodology. Although construction processes with printers are becoming standardized, it is also true that many other aspects must be considered in the design phase. Better this construction methodology becomes known, more architects and engineers will have to learn how to design these constructions, in the methods of statics, systems, etc. A very important...

DIATOMS OF SEDIMENTS OF PLESCHEEVO LAKE (RUSSIA) AS INDICATORS OF ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES IN HOLOCENE

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Olga Palagushkina)

Bottom sediments of continental limnic ecosystems are of great interest to researchers as paleoarchives of changes taking place in the environment. Use of diatoms allows to reconstruct the main stages of life of lakes against the background of changing environmental conditions caused by natural and anthropogenic causes. The core of the bottom sediments selected from Pleshcheyevo Lake (Russia). The maximum age of the core was 5070В±150 year BP (Holocene period). Diatom analysis of 73 samples revealed 127 taxa. In t...

USE OF NATURAL ZEOLITES FOR LEAD POLLUTION REMOVAL FROM WATER

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, S.DURSUN, A. Pala)

A natural zeolite, Clinoptilolite was used to investigate its adsorption capacity for the lead (II) ions from artificial polluted tap water in this study. For the experimental studies, Clinoptilolite mineral which is 25-140 mesh size was used by activating with HCl, and lead ion removal efficiencies were examined. Experiments were studied under laboratory batch conditions were run at different pH values, temperatures. The highest removal efficiency was found as about 87\% at pH 5. Similarly, experiments were carri...
