ASSESSMENTS OF THE LONG - THERM WAVES DATA SERIES IN CASE OF THE SHELTERED ADYACENT AREAS DELINEATION FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS ADJOINING THE CONSTANTA PORT

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Elena Vlăsceanu, Răzvan Mateescu, Eugen Rusu)

Data analysis for multiple data source locations on the wave climate regime of the Western Black Sea Coast is significantly required in port design as well in the delineations of the sheltered conditions, various emergency situations in maritime port areas. Under the extreme wave’s regime circumstances, there is a limited possibility to find certain low-energy areas for ships sheltering. The wave regime presents specificities of the wave field generated by the wind, especially in the port adjacent areas, under the...

WAVES PENETRATION INSIDE THE PORT ACVATORIES ASOCIATED WITH THE EXTREME STORM REGIM ON THE ROMANIAN COAST

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Elena Vlăsceanu, Răzvan Mateescu, Eugen Rusu)

The marine storms take place with a relatively high frequency at the Romanian Black Sea coast characterized by an active storm regime, especially in the winter times, when the reported values of wind speed at gust reach 40 m/s, producing the offshore waves high of 5-8 m and even more in the offshore area. Even the frequency of storm surges at the western Black Sea shore is relatively low comparing to other European seas, the North-East occurrence of such storms produces significant exposures. Due to the magnitude ...

COMPLEX ASSESSMENT ON THE MARINE HYDROLOGICAL VARIABILITY REGIME OF THE WESTERN BLACK SEA COASTAL ZONE, ITS SUPPORT FOR THE REGIONAL MARINE SPATIAL PLANNING ACTIVITIES

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Elena Vlăsceanu)

The paper is considering several marine and coastal hydrological studies revealing a high-risk factor in coastal regions due to the climate change and associated storm surge-driven floods, wave and wind damage, and increased coastal erosion and overtopping. The work is focused on advancing the understanding of the impact of climate change and extreme events on the regional and local marine hydrodynamics, including the variability of the meso- and sub-mesoscale marine regime of the western basin of the Black Sea. B...

SYNERGIC REMOTE SENSING DATA ROUTINES FOR THE VALIDATION OF THE HYDRODYNAMIC MODEL-S RESULTS, APPLIED TOWARDS THE ROMANIAN MARITIME PORTS- SAFE OPERATIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Elena Vlăsceanu)

The paper focuses on a validation approach of numerical modeling applications used in the study of wave and current propagation within adjacent areas of maritime/coastal ports, using satellite remote sensing data against in-situ data and model results? data. An advantage of using a forecast numerical model is its ability to allow an analysis within a relatively short time, but approaching numerically in a simple manner the different coastal hydrodynamic processes, without an appropriate validation it can give erro...

COASTAL WORKS POST-CONSTRUCTION EFFECTIVENESS VALIDATION IN EFORIE BAY AREA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Student Dragos Niculescu, Student Elena Vlasceanu, Angela Ivan, Nicolae Buzbuchi, Ichinur Omer)

The design of the new protection scheme in the EforieпїЅs area was done based on yearly averaged incident waves from the dominant NE wave energy direction, with associated preferred coastline, which agrees well with a natural behavior of the present shoreline. The sand nourishments were constructing the new overall orientation of the computed shoreline, now in post-construction period corresponding to a new orientation of the coastline. The present work presents the functional effectiveness of the model simulation...

REMOTE SENSING IMAGERY APPLICATIONS FOR THE WAVE-S FIELD TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE ADJACENT AREAS OF THE ROMANIAN MARITIME PORTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Angela Ivan, Student Elena Vlasceanu, Razvan Mateescu, Student Dragos Niculescu)

Using remote monitoring methods, including aerial remote sensing, UAV and LIDAR (remote sensing, 3D UAV imagery and LIDAR) for high-resolution investigations of waves field characteristic parameters near the seaports, gives us the support information for decision making process. Therefore the results obtained in near real-time are useful to create optimal resolution maps for waveпїЅs reflection, refraction and diffraction, depending on necessities. In this paper is evaluated the possibility to monitoring and mappi...

ROMANIAN SHORE-S HYDRODYNAMIC CLASSIFICATION FOR BALNEARY TOURISM PURPOSES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Angela Ivan, Student Elena Vlasceanu)

The Romanian Ministry of Tourism as the National Tourism Administration, member of the Romanian Government, is in charge of coordination and implementation of the general tourism development strategy. Among other specific domains, thalassotherapy is a new desired touristic sector designed by Ministry of Tourism and local authorities, (Tourism Promotion Office and Licensing and Classification Office) as well as the private sector (NGOпїЅs related to the tourism industry). This has a major role in the balneary touri...
