APPLICATION OF AERIAL AND TERRESTRIAL THERMOGRAPHY FOR DETERMINING THE BUILDING ENVELOPE THERMAL PERFORMANCE

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Ligia Moga, Teodora Melania Şoimoşan, Ioana Moldovan, Mihai Rădulescu, Adrian Radulescu, Ionuţ Iancu)

It is well known that at a European level, a large building fund must be retrofitted by 2050 to meet the climate and energy targets defined by a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions up to 80 - 95% compared to 1990 levels. In this regard, the proposed recast of the energy performance directive defines a new path: going from nearly Zero Energy Buildings to Zero Emission Buildings for residential and non-residential buildings. Thus, practitioners need more adequate instruments to perform reliable field measurements ...

QUICK AND RELIABLE ONLINE TOOL FOR ASSESSING THERMAL BRIDGES

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Ligia Moga, Ioan Moga)

The recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 844 from 2018 stipulates the need of meeting the criteria of nearly Zero Energy Buildings, at both new and existing buildings. Although that the target is starting to get embraced by the design community, the process of modelling such buildings is very time consuming. The modelling and simulation of the construction joints, known as thermal bridges implies knowledge regarding numerical simulation and also the acquisition of commercial licenses in order to...

ANALYTIC STUDY OF THERMAL BRIDGES MET AT HIGH PERFORMANCE ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDINGS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Ligia Moga)

The European Directive 31/2010 for the energy performance of buildings imposed two distinct deadlines for the new buildings stock, one being that all public buildings must be nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) starting with 31 December 2018 and the other is that all new buildings must be nZEB starting from 31 December 2020. Thus, a thoroughly design must be considered in obtaining such low energy consumptions at buildings. In the design stage, a time consuming activity is that of modeling and simulating thermal w...

AEROGEL - A THERMAL CHARACTERIZATION AND ANALYSIS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Adrian Bucur, Ligia Moga)

The aerogel is a nanomaterial that may represent a viable alternative to the traditional thermal insulations, especially when it is required an increase of the thermal performance of the building envelope elements and also a reduced thickness of their finishing layers. The paper presents the conclusions of some studies regarding the thermal behaviour of the aerogel and also some improvement possibilities of this material and of other materials, by integration of the aerogel in their structure. At the same time, th...

CALCULATION AND ANALYSIS OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION INDEX FOR HEATING PUSPOSES IN A COMMON DWELLING BUILDING IN ROMANIA, IN DIFFERENT VARIANTS OF THERMAL INSULATION AND VENTILATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Florin Babota, LIGIA MOGA, C. Aciu, C. Munteanu, D. R. Tamas-Gavrea)

The present paper analyzes - from the point of view of the energy consumption - a residential building in Romania, of usual construction, in order to fit it into the energy certification grid for heating [1]. The study was conducted for 8 thermal insulation variants with a thickness between 5 and 40 cm, each in 3 ventilation cases, in a total of 24 cases [2]. In order to determine the energy performance of the building, the CIMPSPAT expert calculation program was used [9], with the high-precision numerical method ...

THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF INSULATED METAL PANEL SYSTEMS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Ligia Moga, Ioan Moga, Ancuta Abrudan, Florin Babota, Constantin Munteanu)

A better energy efficiency of a building can be obtained by implementing passive and active energy efficient design strategies. The initial design phase starts with implementation of several passive strategies, i.e. strong thermally insulated building envelope, buildingпїЅs orientation, windows placement, and buildingпїЅs aspect ratio, window to wall ratio, use of thermal mass, natural lighting, shadings and other solutions. However, looking at how building are designed, built and operated nowadays, it can be obse...
