DETECTION OF IRON DEPOSITS BY NORMALIZED FULL GRADIENT METHOD: OJATABAD DEPOSIT, IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, H. Aghajani, A. Moradzadeh)

The Normalized Full Gradient (NFG) method was introduced in the mid of 1960s. This method generally uses for interpretation potential field data in order to detect gravity and magnetic anomalies. The NFG value represents the full gradient of the magnetic anomaly at a point divided by the average of the full gradient at the datum. The closed maxima on a NFG map indicate the occurrence and the horizontal locations of the centers of magnetic anomalies related to iron deposits. By means of this map, we can select bore...

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, N. Bilim, H. Ozsen, I. Ozkan)

Determination of mechanical parameters of rock materials and using them as an input data-base are important in rock engineering design studies. The standard test procedures to determine mechanical parameters of rocks have been developed and they have been applied for up to 40 years. Blasting is not just an “empirical” relation between man (e.g., the blaster) and rock. This particular point of view has been proved to be correct and self-evident, mainly in major Public Works and Construction blasting, where the main part of the site activity often regards rock excavation within urban or sensitive areas. Greece was used as a pilot example for study, given that it is buried in loose sediments where the aquifer overflows their floors. Although the proposed method is expensive, it establishes permanent drainage conditions regarding to pumping. The purpose of this method is to create an impervious shell, which isolates the floor and the walls of the tomb...
