Tin selenide SnSe was synthesized from tin and selenium powder precursors by high- energy milling in pl anetary ball mill. X-ray diffractio n analysis confirmed that an orthorhombic tin selenide SnSe phase was formed already after 4 min of milling. 119Sn MГ¶ssbauer spectroscopy documented the values of SnSe isomer shifts corresponded to Sn in the oxidation state II.
