SEISMOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE SWARM TYPE SEISMICITY IN THE REGION OF VELINGRAD, BULGARIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Stela Simeonova, Plamena Raykova, Dimcho Solakov)

-he space-time distribution of earthquakes is of substantial importance for understanding the physics of the earthquake generation process. Earthquakes can be analyzed as a time series of events that result from the released strain in the earth's crust. The study of the space-time distribution of earthquakes using statistical methods reveals many of their characteristics. Sequences of seismic events affect both spatial and time distribution of earthquakes. It is necessary to know the statistical characteristics of...

SELECTING THE OPTIMAL LIQUEFACTION CYCLE FOR CRYOGENICS ENERGY STORAGE

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Claudia IONIŢĂ, Alexandru Dobrovicescu, Daniel Dima)

Cryogenic energy storage (CES) is a large-scale energy storage technology that stores electricity in the form of liquefied gas at cryogenic temperatures. The CES system has three sub-processes, namely, charging or liquefaction, storage, discharging or power cycle. Because the main energy costs in this system are related to the liquefaction module, we will focus on the analysis of liquefaction processes. The present work aims at performing a comparative study between cycles commonly used for the liquefaction of air...

SMALL COMPONENT IGNITION TESTS - UNCERTAINTY ESTIMATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Marius Darie, Tiberiu Csaszar, Sorin Burian, Lucian Moldovan, Cosmin Colda)

The paper presents issues regarding uncertainty involved in the test process to ignition of small components for intrinsically safe equipment. In the first part of the paper, the classification of explosion-protected equipment is presented. In power generation and also in other industrial areas, the incidence of flammable substances is a common factor. As a consequence of this, the risk of explosion may arise. On the other hand, installations located in areas endangered by the presence of flammable substances must...

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Jarmila Zimmermannová, Richard Smilnak, Omar Ameir, Michaela Perunová)

Decarbonising the EU-s energy system is crucial to reach the 2030 climate objectives and the EU-s long-term strategy of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Based on these Green Deal goals and the current energy situation in Europe, it is highly important to focus on biofuel energy sources. Our research deals with the behaviour of households in the Czech Republic and changes in their consumption habits in the last decades. The main goal of this paper is to evaluate the development of the consumption of biofuels by...

SOME REGULARITIES OF DEGRADATION OF (14C)-LABELED TEA (Tea Sinensis) BIOMASS IN RED AND BROWN FOREST SOILS

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Merab Mgeladze, Antaz Kikava, Zhana Tchitanava, Ilia Kalandadze, Besik Kalandadze)

The studies using (14C)-labeled tea (Tea Sinensis) biomass have demonstrated that tea biomass is degraded in red (Nitisols Ferralic) and brown forest (Humic Cambisols) soils. The application of manganese sludge and manganese sulfate (MnSO4) in these soils increases the mineralization in both soil taxa evidencing an active participation of Mn ions in the degradation of phenolic substances. When applying manganese sludge and/or MnSO4 to the experimental samples, most of 14CO2 is released during the first 60 days as ...

SPATIAL ASPECTS OF SUBURBANIZATION IN THE HITERLAND OF PRESOV IN SLOVAKIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Juliana Krokusová, Vladimír Čech)

The main objective of the paper is to analyze and evaluate what are the manifestations and impacts of suburbanization in the hinterland of the city of Presov. The first manifestations of suburbanization started in 1996 and continue even nowadays. This process brings several consequences, economic, social, demographic, environmental, etc. When looking at migration flows, Presov has shown a long-term decline in population. The municipalities located in its hinterland show an increase in population. In this paper we ...

AN EMPIRICAL MODEL FOR FORECASTING THE CRITICAL FREQUENCY OF THE IONOSPHERIC E-REGION OVER BULGARIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Rumiana Bojilova, Plamen Mukhtarov)

This work presents an empirical model for forecasting the hourly values of the ionospheric E-region critical frequency (foE) over Bulgaria in dependence of both: the index of the solar activity described by F10.7 and the cosine of solar zenith angle. The dependence of foE on solar activity and solar zenith angle is studied by correlation and regression analysis. The obtained relationships are used as a base for the synthesis of the model. The model is produced by using the hourly values of foE obtained in the iono...

ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF MACROECONOMIC FACTORS ON THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHINESE COAL INDUSTRY

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Oksana Marinina, Marina Nevskaya, Lijuan Zhang, Chi Thi Que)

In 2020, China and India accounted for two-thirds of global coal consumption, while the European Union and the United States accounted for only 10%. Coal consumption in Southeast Asia has now surpassed the European Union and will soon surpass the United States. Now the global coal trend is mainly influenced by Asia. Changes in the demand for coal in China are closely related to economic growth, but in different periods of the development of China's industrialization, the degree of dependence of economic growth on ...

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Oana-Cristina Modoi, Iulia Ajtai, Carmen Roba, A. Mereuta)

Textile production is considered one of the most polluting industries with a high impact on the environment, both in terms of increased resource consumption and textile waste generation. Moreover, in the past years, the textile industry registered a significant growth, which leads to large amounts of textile waste that need to be controlled and managed. This problem highlighted the need for sustainable methods and improved technologies for textile recycling, and brings into focus the importance of circular economy...

One of the components of sustainable consumption is the consumption of organic products. Organic foods, which are natural and healthy, are increasingly competing with conventional quality products. It is therefore important to substantiate the opinion formed about the higher quality value of organic food. 2020 At the LAMMC Institute of Horticulture, red beets were grown using two different farming systems: organic and conventional. Beets grown in different agricultural systems, of the same varieties, allow to more...

The hydrocarbon reservoirs in mature regions are extremely complex, each reservoir having its own identity. The value of recoverable geological reserves depends on the data of geological and geophysical studies: determination of heterogeneity and reservoir compartmentalization. Residual oil reserves are concentrated in undeveloped clayey, poorly permeable intervals along the section, the development of which is impossible without research and development. One of such studies is the methods of lineament analysis of...
