DETERMINATION OF PILLAR COORDINATES AT THE CALIBRATION BASELINE OF THE FACULTY OF GEODESY IN ZAGREB BY APPLYING GPS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Mladen Zrinjski)

The calibration baseline of the Faculty of Geode sy, University of Zagreb, is the longest calibration baseline in the world numbering altogether 25 pillars. It was built in 1982 for the purpose of testing and calibrating the electro-optical distance meters, and today even GNSS instruments can be tested there. Th is calibration baseline provided a mutual standard scale for the calibration of instruments at the distance up to 3100 m in the Republic of Croatia and wider region. In this paper the determination of coor...

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Djuro Barkovic)

The determination of heights using the me thod of geometric levelling belongs to the most precise geodetic measurements. The majo rity of errors in geometric levelling can be eliminated in the most part by testing and rectification of instruments, by selecting an appropriate measuring method and the most convenient external conditions and the time of the day and the year. The errors that canno t be eliminated in f iled conditions are the error of staff scale, the error of irregula rly attached staff scale and the ...

GEODETIC WORKS IN MICRO TUNNELING PROJECTS EXCAVATED BY PIPE-JACKING METHOD

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Nihat Ersoy)

Installation techniques of pipes line, such as water, sewerage, gas etc. are changed nowadays. Because of conventional inst allation of pipes in trench has many disadvantages, such as disruption to traffic flow, loss of access, noise, additional safety and technical problems with other buried se rvices, trenchless pipeline technologies are used widely nowadays. Settlements of the road surface are not to be expected as well as road repair work is not necessary along the pipeline for trenchless installation. There h...

PROCESSING OF A GEODETIC NETWORK WITH APPLICATION OF DIFFERENT COFACTORS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Gabriel Weiss)

The advantage of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) over other terrestrial technologies is that it is not affected by uncertainties in the ground layers of the atmosphere. At present, manufacturers characterize the accuracy of vectors measured by the static method of GNSS technology using values 5 mm + 1 mm. But also exist different methods of choice the cofactors of measured quantities by GNSS. The paper presents experimental measurement of the 3D geodetic network using the technology of the GNSS, process...

A man-made structure or natural phenomena like crustal movement, vertical land movements, subsidence determination, etc. is subject to deformations due to forces on them. Deformations of a structure require rigorous analysis to reflect significant movements. In general, deformation analysis relies on the reference network that is set outside the deforming area so that a comparison could be possible. However, a geodetic reference network is itself subject to movement. Therefore, the stability of the reference netwo...

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, H. Hassani, S. Arshadnejad)

The Siah Bishe Pumped Storage Dam is located in the northern part of the Alborz mountain range. The investigation results and the effect of brittle deformation of two fault sets in the left pressure shaft of Siah Bisheh Dam are discussed in this paper. The shaft is arranged in sedimentary and volcanic rocks of Triasic and Jurasic ages. The length of the shaft is 450m and its diameter is 6m with 65 degree inclination relatively south-north trend. The results of geo-engineering surveys using boreholes and statistica...

FUZZY CLUSTER ANALYSIS TO IDENTIFY ORE TYPES IN KHOUNI AREA, IRAN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, A. Pourjabbar, A. Hezarkhani, S. A. Meshkani)

Multivariate statistics analysis is one of the base stages in geochemical data processing. In this branch of mathematics, “Hierarchical Clustering Analysis” applied to identify the relations between the variables such as elements and samples. Hence, different types of mineralization would define. However, any missing or errors in entrance the data make a wrong or not clear result. Sometimes misinformation or data errors appear because of analytical errors, missing some information, or problems in sam pling or ...

TOE EROSION INDUCED LANDSLIDES FROM ЕћEBINKARAHISAR (GIRESUN-TURKEY): PART I

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, I. Yilmaz, I. Keskin)

This case study presented herein describes and analyses the results of the detailed surveys of landslides caused by toe erosion in Avutmus district of Sebinkarahisar (Giresun-Turkey), based on field and laboratory measurements, monitoring and remote sensing data of the study area. Sebinkarahisar has been recognized as a landslide-prone area. Landslides in this area caused several hazards in the houses and farming areas. In view of landslide re-occurrence potential in this area and its close environ, understanding ...

TOE EROSION INDUCED LANDSLIDES FROM ЕћEBINKARAHISAR (GIRESUN-TURKEY): PART II, PHYSICALLY BASED SUSCEPTIBILITY MAPPING

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, I. Yilmaz, I. Keskin)

This case study presented herein describes physically based susceptibility mapping in AvutmuЕџ-Sebinkarahisar (Giresun-Turkey) and its vicinity using the SINMAP model. Sebinkarahisar has been recognized as a landslide-prone area. Landslides in this area caused several hazards in the houses and farming areas. In view of landslide re-occurrence potential in this area and its close environ, understanding of the failure mechanism is highly crucial. In order to predict the future landslides in the area and its vicinity...

3D CADASTRE. WHAT? WHY? HOW?

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, V. Gjorgjiev, G. Gjorgjiev)

The need of real publication and distribution of the data from the cadastral systems more emphasized dictate adequate engagement of methodology and algorithms for registration of constrictive components which helps discretization of space phenomena and events. Within the turbulent ideas the cadastral systems which are functionally based on 2D treatment of property units do not have ability to accept and fulfill complex constructive segments and their contacts whit the close surroundings. This is only a part of the...

A DAMAGE IN A BUILDING EXCAVATION. REASONS AND LESSONS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, I. Ivanov, N. Popov, E. Beikova)

Authors consider a damage in a building excavation, which took place in June 2005 at the environs of Sofia. The slope of the excavation is protected by anchors and protective net but after the heavy rains during the whole month of June 2005 it begins to degrade. An emergency additional strengthening is made and the degradation is stopped. The paper considers the reasons for the damage and outlines the results of the investigations and laboratory tests made afterwards. The specific characteristics of the soil that ...
