COMPACTION OF TUNGSTEN CONTAINING ULTRA-DISPERSE POWDER IN DYNAMIC CONDITIONS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, N. M. Chikhradze)

An Investigation of explosive consolidation processes of W-Cu ultra-disperse and nano sized powder compositions are discussed. For theoretical calculations of the explosive loaded materials were used the hydrodynamic theory and experimental adiabatics of W and Cu. The stress-deformed state of the steel ampoule-containers was estimated using the solutions of elasticity theory. Copper tungsten (W-Cu) powder compositions were consolidated to full or near-full density by explosive-compaction technique. The industrial ...

This paper considers potential changes in storm occurrence and intensity over the western Black Sea through analysis of long term series of wind and wave conditions simulated with relatively high resolution. It is a result of coupling of atmospheric and wave models and spans period of more than 60 years (1948-2008). On the basis of the established methodology of wave climate clustering, wave events capable of producing a noticeable morphological response are separated from the remaining part of the dataset. Close parallels between transpiration and water deficit indicate that in diseased plants water loss is largely determined by leaf water content. The rate of water loss (transpiration) depends on evaporation. Therefore anything that affects the rate of evaporation would also affect the rate of water lost. There was no clear relationship between leaf growth rate and leaf water potential or turgor for either species. It decreases with leaf age and is correlated with the rate of dehydration, but it is independent of t...

The samples can be classified as Group-1(low Zr) and Group-2 (high Zr), all displaying various enrichments in large ion lithophile (LIL) and light rare earth (LRE) elements and depletion i...

HYDROLOGY OF MEZICA (SLOVENIA) LEAD AND ZINC MINE DEWATERING AFTER MINE CLOSURE

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, M. Mavc, J. Prestor, S. F. Strucl)

Mining in upper Me\vza valley had more than 350 years of tradition. Lead and zinc ore deposit was developed in the triassic carbonate layers on the area of 64 km2. Until 1994, when the mining process was stopped, miners excavated about 19 million tons of lead and zinc ore and over 1000 km of galleries and pits. A crucial aspect of the Me\vzica mine was the dewatering issue. Me\vzica ore deposit is developed in Triassic carbonate rocks – limestone and dolomite. The area is of rough mountainous relief rising from 50...

APPLICATION OF LARGE UNDERGROUND SPACES IN HARD ROCKS: PAST, PRESENT AND THE FUTURE

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, plac, secure)

Since a very long time ago, men have paid a very especial attention to underground spaces. Stone Age men used to take them as shelters and the contemporary human has applied them in several ways. Caverns are large underground spaces which are excavated in hard rock. Nowadays, engineers’ attention has been drawn to the application of caverns in order to expand the urban areas due to the civil developments and the lack of enough spaces on the surface. On the other hand, caverns have turned to become multi-purpose sp...

SOLAR SYSTEM DEMENSIONING IN THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, Csikosova, Adriana)

Recent renewable energy sources utilization in the Slovak republic represents only 2.6 \% from the total primary energy sources consumption. 27\% of the Slovakian technically utilizable renewable energy sources potential is used, so there still remain enormous unused potential, which comprise 115 775 TJ per year. Technically utilizable Slovakian renewable sources potential is estimated, based on the existed analysis, at 112 636 TJ per year (or 136 421 TJ per year, if we consider hydroelectric power plants with the...
