MICRO STRUCTURAL PARTICULARITIES OF LOW-FINENESS GOLD

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, Samusikov, Vladimir, Pavlova, Ludmila)

The native gold containing high silver, extracted from gold bulk of few kilograms, was comprehensively researched. The studied through the optical microscope gold samples seem homogeneous and their fineness varies from 200 to 500 ppm. The fineness deviates from the mean value about ±20-30 ppm, however zonation is not observed. When the gold samples were dissolved in nitric acid, only silver was released into solution and gold remained in the insoluble remainder as the spongy-porous skeleton, consisting of pure gol...

The relationships included in EN ISO 7933 standard were used for this purpose. Level of heat accumulation, degree of skin moistness, maximum volume of sweat and body dehydration were evaluated. These parameters we used to define the safe time of work under difficult climate conditions. The calculations were made in respect of acclima...

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF SOME MINING BASED INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, Tulbure, Ildiko, Palamariu, Maricel)

Industrial activities have the direct goal to help increasing the quality of life of the population. Beside positive direct and desired effects of industrial activities these have also negative, undesired and sometimes unthinkable effects on the environment and society. Especially mining based industrial activities have several unwanted impacts on environment, but not only on environment. With the goal of assuring the sustainable development of our human society it is therefore necessary to evaluate industrial pro...

HEAVY METAL CONTENTS OF BARLEY (HORDEUM SP.) PLANTS AT AREAS AROUND THE CITY

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, Topal, Ali, Kahraman, Ali)

This study was conducted to analyze concentrations of heavy metals in plants and soils of barley fields which were growing around of Konya city (Central Anatolia, Turkey). The samples of plants and soils were collected from different areas of two directions (North and South) and two distances (0 and 50 km) of the city. The samples of plants were analyzed for heavy metals (Pb, Zn, Cu, Cr, Ni) measured by ICP-OES. The samples of soils were also analyzed for basic chemical properties (pH, humus and carbonate contents...

CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES IN GEORGIA

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, Elizbarashvili, Mariam, Elizbarashvili, Elizbar, Meskhia, Ramaz, Maisuradze, Roman)

The current climate change regulations have been investigated based on the data of 90 meteorological stations of Georgia from 1906 to 2005. It was revealed that the climate change has the mosaic character: arid landscapes became warm more quickly than humid ones, which were even cooled in many cases. The dynamics of recurrence of anomalous deviations of monthly average temperatures have been investigated.

AN INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM FOR E-LEARNING

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, Barbu, Tudor, Dragomir, Maria)

An information retrieval technique that could be used successfully in the E-Learning domain is provided in this article. The described system is based on a relevancefeedback scheme. It retrieves relevant documents from an information database, those documents being useful in the learning process. The proposed system is an interactive one, the human user being involved in the retrieving process.

This paper presents out researches in the area of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geovisualization. As one of the results, we will present a solution that consists of geodata styling document repository and editor. This solution is a part of a larger GIS interoperability platform – GeoNis. As a language used for creating geographic data styling documents, we have chosen Symbology Encoding (SE) language proposed by the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) organization. Integrated Symbology Encoding Edito...

DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW TUNNEL UNDER THE FLOTATION BARREN VELIKI KRIVELJ

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, Krstić, Sladjana, Ljubojev, Milenko, Bugarin, Mile)

Brief Development of tunnel would be partially through flotation tailing dump and partially through rock massif. Krivelj`s river stream would be regulated by new tunnel, because the old manifold could be destructed. Project No. 17004 (2008-2010) Ministry of Science and Technology Development explored all aspects of the environment in which the new tunnel is designed (primarily engineering-geological, hydrogeological and petrology features).
