(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Mladen Zrinjski)

The calibration baseline of the Faculty of Geode sy, University of Zagreb, is the longest calibration baseline in the world numbering altogether 25 pillars. It was built in 1982 for the purpose of testing and calibrating the electro-optical distance meters, and today even GNSS instruments can be tested there. Th is calibration baseline provided a mutual standard scale for the calibration of instruments at the distance up to 3100 m in the Republic of Croatia and wider region. In this paper the determination of coor...

DROUGHT IMPACTS ON GROUND WATER RESOURCES IN SHAHREKORD AQUIFER, IRAN

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Dariush Rahimi)

Ground water, according to higher reliance coefficient and less fluctuations, has been used for many years. Precipitation is a major supplier of underground water resources and aquifers. So any changes in rainfall amount fluctuate underground water table depth. Occurrence of drought is the most important reason for the decrease of water table. To analyze the role of drought on underground water in Shahrekord plain rainfall and water table level were used during 1984-2008 period. The resualts shows a strong correla...

EFFECT OF COMMERCIAL CEMENTITIOUS MATERIAL ON PHOSPHORUS SORPTION BY AN ACID COARSE-TEXTURED SOIL

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Antoine Karam)

Repeated application of phosphorus (P) fert ilizer in soils, in excess of crop removal rates, may increase the concentration of P in soil solution and conse quently the transfer of soluble P to streams. Excess P in natura l aquatic systems can promote eutrophication of lakes and rivers. The application of calcareous sorbent in the adsorptive removal of P from soil solution could be a suitable technique. The objective of the experiment is to evaluate the sorption of P in a marginal coarse-textured soil (pH 5.5) ame...

Rock mass deformation modulus is an im portant input parameter in any stability analysis in the surface and underground structures. This parameter can be obtained through in-situ tests, empirical relations be tween deformation modulus and rock mass classification, and estimating from back analysis method. Field tests are developed to determine this parameter directly, but these methods are time consuming and expensive. Therefore, some researchers have proposed empirical formula for estimation of rock mass modulus ...

HYDROPOWER RESOURCES AND HYDROLOGICAL HAZARDS IN WESTERN SIBERIA

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Olga Nevidimova)

In the article is shown the approach to a research on hydropower resources in Western Siberia. The hydropower potential estimates are ba sed on the following factors: water content of rivers, river slopes and flow velocities. Identified are the portions of rivers with largest energ Сѓ capacity and the possibility to use hydro potential. A measure of hydrological tension was cal culated, which takes in to account the quantitative characteristics of following factors: low water, ice effect s, high water, sediments r...

IDENTIFICATION OF CIRCULATION PATTERNS PRODUCING FLASH FLOODS OVER SOUTH-WEST OF IRAN

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Najafpour Bahram)

In this study, to identify circulation patterns producing flash flood in the South-West of Iran, 51 large floods in the Qantareh Station have been selected which have been among the data from the daily flood in a period of 30 years of Mond basin. The Mond basin is one of the sub-basin of Persian Gulf Basin and is located in south west of Iran. Then, the hydrologic features of selected floods ha ve been calculated. Afterwards, hydrologic features of these floods using mean and st andard deviation have been standard...

IDENTIFICATION OF WATERS UNDER NITRATES POLLUTION THREAT USING MODELLING APPROACH IN OPEN-GIS ENVIRONMENT

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Maria Cristina Trifu)

The paper present the LIFE09 ENV/RO/0 00612 - CLEANWATER project, which foresees the development of an integrated approach for the management of nitrogen pollution, within the river catchments, with emphasis on modelling tools for delimiting the nutrients vulnerable zones, as well as for analyzing the proper measures from the environmental and economical point of view. The Barlad River Basin (surface of 7220 km 2, mean altitude 211 m) represents 17% of the surface of Siret river basin, which is the biggest Romania...

IMPLEMENTATION OF FLOOD LAND GEOFACTOR AND ITS GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE INTO LAND USE PLANS IN THE MINING LANDSCAPE

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Marián Marschalko)

The presented paper brings results of a case study implementing the geofactors of flood land and radon hazard into land use plans in the cadastral district of Doubrava and Karvina. The studied area is located in the Ostrava-Karvina Coal District in the north- east of the Czech Republic close to the Polish border. It is defined by the map sheet 15- 44-03 in 1:10 000 scale. The area was studied for the fact how land use planners catered for the distribution of flood land characte rised by the hundred-year flood and ...

IN SITU STUDIES TO ESTIMATE THE STRESS STATE IN PILLARS, FROM SALT MINE PRAID

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Mihaela Toderaş)

Determining the stress around a mining excavation is a complex issue of Geomechanics and implicitly of the mining area. The evaluati on of stress state is essential, but very difficult to obtain, due to the interaction of the instrument ation with the rock massif. The measurement methods, together with the devices and the methods of processing and interpretation of data, ensure and create the possibility of knowing the degree of dependence between the measured effects in terms of time, and the factors causing them...

INFLUENCE OF LIMESTONE AND SPILITE PROCESSING AT SM KOTA NEAR VARES TO ENVIRONMENT

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Ekrem Bektasevic)

Appropriate selection of technological pro cess, as well as technology for processing row materials at quarries, creation of dust emission into the air and its further dispersion would be reduced to the minimal possible measure. This paper represents results of measurement of sedimentary and floating dust, as well as measurement of noise that are products of exploitation of limestone and spilite at SM „Kota“ near Vareš. Measurement confirmed that during limestone processi ng at mentioned location, pollution o...
